It's probably part of the "we don't want a huge patch" thing. If they launched in September (with a big Day 1 patch) they'd probably need another for Pro. November means everything is on disc already.

The difference is definitely big, but the two different locations helps emphasize the point. A side by side comparison of the same location would give everyone a better idea of what to expect I'd think.
To me that second image looks pretty bad compared to the ps4, but it's hard to tell because of compression and them not being a side by side. Any idea if there are better quality versions of those pics around yet?
The game will still be gorgeous on classic PS4, but yea it is kind of obvious the game will downgrade in graphics a bit for a smoother framerate which is perfectly fine. Really happy the XV/Neo conspiracy was true.
Dear god, a better zone comparison of the same zone would be better. How much will Neo?

That shit is 515 Canadian lol
Is it confirmed $515? Or are you just converting based on today's dollar? Still though, wouldn't surprise me if it was around ~$500 for us
1/2 ugh, 1/2 not surprised
I have a buncha American cash just collecting dust. I might just hop the border and snag one in Seattle/Bellingham ._.;
I am sadded. i got my PS4 approximately 2 months ago so that I could play FFXV and now I learn that it won't be the best PS4 version I get to play.
In Spira's defence, the game had a confirmed and supposedly set in stone release date after a giant global announcement 2 months ago lol
Still, it's Square-Enix. For the last decade they've cared more about visuals than gameplay, so if you didn't see this being a flagship PS4k/Neo/Pro game from the second those rumors started, then, I don't really know what to say.
What's the point on bagging on someone for doing something natural without the power of your super hindsight? Not everyone is informed or current on info so it should be expected and it's still a dick move.
And I dunno how you can say they don't care about gameplay when it's constantly trying to change and evolve. If that were the case we'd be playing FF1 with better graphics. Mysteries.
Don't almost every AAA game care about graphics?
I really wouldn't say SE care more about gameplay than visuals. Not any more than any other large developer. Like Elcura said, if all they cared about was visuals every FF game would be a copy/paste with just upgraded visuals. It's not like SE only have 1 department and told everyone to work on graphics, including the audio engineers, game designers, game programmers, level editors, narrative copywriters...
Whether you want to admit it or not, the look of a game is a huge part of the immersion. You can have the world's greatest gameplay in a game, but it won't be near as popular as most other games if all it features is a stick figure. Of course, the same can be said about graphics if the gameplay and story is shit. I do not, however, see what's wrong with trying to make a game as beautiful as possible, as that is a very important part. A game with excellent gameplay will be made even more fun with excellent graphics. And no, I'm not saying FFXV is excellent. I simply don't know that yet. But you can't say that SE spent more time on graphics than gameplay, either, because you simply don't know whether that is true or not until the game releases.
Sure, based on their track record you can be cautious, but just because you drive by a field and see only black sheep, you can't with certainty say that the next field will only contain black sheep.
The pro version being the 'best available' is honestly minute to a 10 year game finally being released.
Is playing the game in 4k vs 1080p REALLY that big of a deal right now? Is it worth an extra $400 bucks when this is essentially a New 3DS type upgrade?
