The only problem i see, is possible performance issue inside XV from normal to PRO
and it seems to be like that, or else they could release the game in September.
Their goal is simply
'FFXV lags? Get a PS4 pro'

Didn't Sony explicitly state something like all games need to be optimized for PS4 so people don't need to feel obliged to upgrade?
Anyway, just saw the movie, so I have a spoilerish question regarding FFXV

i don't buy that for one second without a side-by-side comparison. yes 4k makes a difference but it doesn't make it look like a whole new movie game, its literally just more pixels filling the screen for more detail. That Pro SS is in a much better lighted environment to begin with.
However, it will be no surprise that it runs much smoother on the Pro
Well that's supposed to be showing the difference between PS4 Amateur vs PS4 Pro "Max 1080p" mode.
Yeah I'm calling bullshit and they are also since its not a side by side comparison. The screen grabs make it look like a whole new console generation and its very obvious this is a New 3DS situation.
Can't wait for PC release.
As far as hype goes? It'll probably be up there. So that isn't too far off for spoilers and such.
Of course they will. In fact it's one of the first things that came to mind after they announced the delay and I still hadn't seen a "Limited Edition FFXV" PS4 console being released at the least in Japan, while we were only a few weeks away from the original launch: "they are saving it for the Neo". So ya, expect one to be announced within the next month I'd say.
This is lame. I haven't gotten anything but member points from the last 3 or 4 weeks from Carbuncle. Anyone get anything mildly cool?
i think you're getting graphics and aesthetics mixed up. let's not forget the best selling game of all time was tetris, until it got upsurped by...minecraft. and you cannot say that game has omgamazinggraphics. graphics actually don't matter much, as long as the aesthetics are good. for instance, Don't Starve is pretty much 2D, yet it has a beautiful gloomy "drawn" look to it that works well with the games music and theme. Bastion is another example of a game with not the highest graphics but beautiful aesthetics.
it's also partly why minecraft got away with its terribly blocky graphics. it didn't try and make things highly polished looking, which would have looked out of place. it didn't try to make highly detailed models (until those horrible horses with their alligator jaws and ridiculously high block count... thanks jeb!) most mobs consisted of a few blocks put together with pixilated skins that were slightly cartoonish, at least until notch left and the soul of the game with it. it all formed a coherent theme that avoided breaking immersion by having something look out of place.
it goes without saying that final fantasy has done their part to try and focus on aesthetics for their games. that's why final fantasy 9, for instance, had characters with oversized heads with highly emphasized faces, and slightly cartoonish aesthetics. it helped with the theme of the game being like a play. that's why final fantasy 10 had a lot of emphasis on water and light and motion, helping to emphasize the ephemeral nature of a story dealing with the spiral of death and a changing world. its true they push the boundries in graphics, but that's not what brings in the fans. final fantasy looks like art, not a 4k turd shown with 64x AA.
