During the Playstation conference this morning, it was stated that it was Sony, not SE who decided on the special edition console. Sony designed and choose the model.

Western version of the console announced. In US & CA it's a Gamestop exclusive for $449/$549. The only notable thing about the package besides being bundled with the game & movie is that it includes a 1TB HDD.

It's $100 more than the 1TB Slim ($349). There is no discount in this package. You're getting 1TB Slim, Full Media + Game, and a unique console design.

Yeah...why bother when I can spend the same, not rewatch a movie I saw for free, and get better frame rates and load times with the pro.

thats one stupid decision by Sony. But whats more stupid is this console will still sell. It would of actually be a fantastic way to get people to buy the Pro though who were already going to buy the Pro and getting XV.

If the limited edition looked better AND was pro, I'd consider upgrading. But atm none of those things are true so I'm not gonna bother.

All of you guys have shit taste, this is the best looking LE PS4 besides maybe the Batman one. And it's certainly better than that xbone nightmare.

I would still get the default one over it, though. LE consoles are almost always hideous.

I like the design but it's a shame that it's not a Pro console. If you're willing to spend this much for a console+game might as well get the PS4Pro and play at higher resolution/framerate/whatever the boost is for this game.

There are no words to describe how silly this marketing is. they are literally banking on the Final Fantasy logo to sell the slim console. When the game will perform better on a premium console that comes out the same month as it with basically the same price tag.

It's almost like Sony wasn't expecting SE to delay the game at the last minute and had already gone into production on the console.

But people on BG told me the delay was specifically to work on the Pro optimization. How could they be wrong?

Those two things don't contradict each other. They can both be true. It's two different companies.

obviously this is all a glitch in the Matrix. Its possible, but its difficult to give these corporate giants the benefit of the doubt.

Yeah I'm starting to think this is the case. Hopefully they'll announce a Pro bundle too, that would be much better.

It's still no excuse. Even if it wasn't delayed, the difference in time between releases is so small that there's no reason to not just bundle the pro with the game after the initial release. People either buy the game, or buy the bundle a few months after its release.
