Edit: Yeah, any update on where people are getting $279 credit for a base PS4? Gamestop's site spits out $125 credit estimate. Best I'm seeing is through Amazon, quoted $154.84 gift card.

I traded my PS4 in for my Pro at EB games and was given $250 credit for it, they also had a deal where you trade in the PS4 and 5 games for like another $60 off or something like that?

My Amazon order hadn't shipped yet but still says Tuesday for delivery date. I contacted Amazon support and was told that there is an issue with inventory on hand so shipping was delayed. They assured me it was going to be resolved in time and that I would still receive the game on Tuesday as well as provided a $5 refund on the order for the inconvenience.

I can understand not liking FFXII's music, it's similar with me despising 99% of FFXIV ARR/HW's music that wasn't reused from 1.x. There's just a certain "Feel" that Uematsu's music added to the series, whereas I love Romancing Saga (Saga in general really) style far more than FF style. I didn't hate XII's music, or XIII's or even XV's that I've heard in my playthrough so far, it just doesn't strike me as "Final Fantasy" in a sense. So I can definitely see that being a reason whether it's good or bad, so many main entries relied on Uematsu's talent sudden change can be jarring to some.

For example I love XI's music, even if it's highly compressed, yet it never strikes me as "this isn't something you'd hear in a FF game."

Like it's not BAD where you notice it and distracts you, but I dont think its really amazing where you'd want to keep songs on your mp3 player/ipod though, which is the standard other FF games have for me. That's why I think its one of the less represented soundtracks on the Distant World Tour. Not many AMAZING songs.

They are less memorable because they're essentially ambient tracks vs having a strong melody like Nobuo's stuff normally does. You can hum the tune to most of his works, but you'd have a significantly harder time doing that with XII's tracks because of the musical style. I agree it's not bad music - I think it's pretty memorable within its own game - but take it out of that atmosphere and it's fairly unremarkable.

One thing I don't really like is the trend of outsourcing for pop tunes for the games. X-2 started this with the Yuna singer idea, and it was ok there, but then XII and XIII have really "whatever" pop tunes as credit themes and it's a far cry from the quality stuff that Uematsu gave us with songs that were written specifically for the FF world, such as 8, 9 and 10's vocal themes. ...And 11's, and 14's... there is definitely a gap in quality/atmospheric effect. I suppose Uematsu can't keep writing for FF forever but damn it would be nice wouldn't it?

My issue was mostly with the 10 year joke though, like I said in my first post the bug is funny, even on a game that has been in production for 3-4 years like this one and had a bullshit delay of 3 months to "polish the game".

Just as funny is that delay was to also prevent a massive day 1 patch, which still happened...

This is the first FF with a collectors edition that I am not getting. Just the simple no frills regular old game case. I'm expecting just as much as most others here; "Okay, this was fun. Not amazing, but good."

Reviews are starting to pop up. Currently at 86 on metacritic, which is astounding for a jrpg. Only complaint on most is the story is poorly told, which makes me sad. But apparently the dungeons are awesome. Also yes, the story does appear to be only about 20 hours.
