I like hunts a lot, I just wish they made more "nm" and less fluff.

Post-game quest spoiler:
Spoiler: show
I did all the hunts minus Adamantoise cause from what I read it seemed too much of a pain to bother(I don't wanna fight for hours..)
Took me just over an hour or so, and I didn't prepare for it or have the best weapons or anything.
That's good to know. I saw the Conan Clueless Gamer thing and they said it'd take 72 hours. Did a google search and it seems 50 minutes at level 69 with food buffs and above average gear is the actual norm.
An interview with one of the producers said 15 hours. Seems they didn't know how to play their own game.
It took me maybe 2 hours at lvl 99, but I was playing it super safe because if you misclick on a far away warp point the fight resets and you have to walk ALL the way back to the diner to reset it.
Does it take that short even if you only ever used the proper shadow-dodge mechanic once by pure mistake and instead just spent the entire game attacking randomly and taking every hit to the face or rolling my way across the floor? Not that I didn't have fun anyway!
I think the whole "72 hours" thing related to Adamantoise was supposed to be 72 hours in game time, since days go by kinda fast. But yeah, the fight is super boring since he really doesn't even have mechanics you have to worry about too much. Basically just an endurance test of beating on him for a really long time. Yiazmat in FF12 was much more of an actual challenge.
Cast Berserk on Bache, have him run in, do a bunch of damage with shield that increases chance to multi-hit and blood sword, he eventually dies, revive, repeat. Yeah, challenge. I guess it is a little more than hold circle, switch from HDMI3 to HDMI2 and watch something on your chromecast/firestick.
I'm pretty sure the game tells you that. You just hold circle and you can use D-Pad to change the the attack (i.e: instead of just thrusting with the spear, I think D-Pad Up + Circle with spear has Noctis flip back after, shit like that. Just different animations with slight difference in moveset). But yeah, I wanted to to time it too, and that works as well.
I knew I could just hold the button...but for some reason I still insisted on spamming it the entire game. I dunno, it just made me feel better that way lol.
There were tutorials? Were they skippable?
Maybe I did. Doesn't really make a difference, though. I played the endless Goblin thing with Carbuncle following you around outside the castle in Insomnia while updates downloaded for the game when I first loaded it up. Didn't see anything about it, but quickly figured out the directional stuff.
The tutorial is in the title menu so they are very much skippable and easy to miss I suppose. It went through basics of battle.
The game has pop up info but a lot of it is obviously easy to not notice.
Edit; Wait, whats the endless goblin thing? lol
You fight endless waves of mobs in the area outside of insomnia Palace, like in the demo
