One of my biggest complaints about the mobs (at least the boss ones) is that whether it's the first 5 mins or the last 5 the move set or difficulty does not change, the strategy is the same the whole time

You could like make strong magic spells that do a lot of damage, but by the time you go through all of that, you could have just auto-attached something to death. I think I used magic like 4 times throughout the entire game.
You missed out on the ancient magic then. Freeze, Flare and fakeburst were awesome. Hitting for 99,999
I'd have to look it up, but the only one off the top of my head is the Hunter's Medal, which gives you like a x33 cast of one (Reward from the post game dungeon clears).
Edit: Heres a little list

I started a new game to show my friend whom I was staying with for a couple of days, long time FF fan but less now due to kids.
This time around I really appreciated "Stand by Me" for some reason, maybe because I knew of the story at this point in time. It felt nice to listen to.
Of the 3 songs in the single:
01 Too Much Is Never Enough
02 Stand By Me
03 I Will Be
Are the other 2 songs used anywhere else? I don't recall any other song playing.
I Will Be was used in an Eos trailer showcasing the landscape and wildlife of the game. Too Much Is Never Enough hasn't been seen anywhere else I don't think.
Magic is very strong throughout the game if you use it right. High enough potency magic can OHKO Iron Giants long before you are able to kill them normally.
Quick Question for all you who have beaten the game and started farming.
Been working my way through the game... slowly, I'm only on Chapter 2. This Chocomoggle Carnival event, is there anything I should focus on buying to carry over to the real game? The VIP pass sticks out as something that might be useful to carry over (99 medals.) Some of the upgrade materials look familiar for weapons Cid was looking to upgrade.
Just wondering if there are must haves so I don't have to farm this to oblivion and I can get back to the main story.

I didn't pick up the VIP pass, because I feel like it's probably just a "Didn't get those fireworks pictures you wanted? Well now you can do it again and again!" I doubt it actually lets you stay in the 30,000g suite for free an infinite number of times, but I didn't pick it up so I could be wrong.
I managed to go through the entire game without once ever encountering a cactaur (apparently they're just low-level open-world monsters in the starter area), so you might want to pick up a cactaur needle for 2 medals. All the rest of the rando materials seem to be the Cid upgrade stuff like you said. None of which are particularly difficult to obtain, but if you're only in chapter 2, you would certainly be able to access them via the carnival far earlier than normal.
In my opinion, the only important thing to make sure you do at the carnival is to go to the cafe and eat both of the meals he serves. You'll then obtain those recipes for use at campsites.
Oh, and don't waste your time hunting the chocochicks. I did that, and my reward? 10 fucking medals.
I had a busy weekend. I did the carnival and completed everything except the 2nd chocobo race (I suck) and the higher tier games (cactuar and the shooting one). I got so pedantic about getting all the fishing rewards that I was able to get the 99 medal pass and the decal (plus the mission required pass), that I figured after that I didn't need anything else.
I also did Adamantoise for the first time, took 20mins. My food hadn't worn off so I killed him again. It was an okay fight, just kept to the fin unless it was vulnerable, then it was the eye.
Talking of a not okay fight, I tried to farm Angelus. Ugh, what a pain. I managed to spawn it twice in a row but since then, nada. The first fight took like an hour, as I just can't fucking get when its vulnerable to attacks. On the second one, I learned a little from my mistakes and it took like 20mins, but it's still a pain. The non-spawning thing doesn't help. I managed to farm like 500+ AP while waiting, and even then I had to give up as they weren't biting. And the result of my 2 fights was 2 magitec V1 suits ; ;
I completed Crestholm and Pitioss. Pitioss was kinda easy if you ever did any jumping puzzle in Guild Wars 2. Except Noct would sometimes do a double step over rough terrain and I'd fall to my doom. So I probably wasted more than an hour to that.
Still got Costlemark left, gonna farm me some more zu beaks.
When does the event end?
Not soon enough.
Need a better answer because I've been delaying doing the stuff!
It's just tedious you know![]()
I'm somewhat curious as to why people even farm v2s. Like, only two end-game dungeons are even mildly difficult to beat. As in, "I can farm Flare/Freeze/Electon, about an hour and a half tops, and nothing in those dungeons can even slightly pose a challenge" Which is hella easier than spending hours trying to farm a bunch of v2s. You barely even need those eithers, you can basically do it with healing magic for the one that doesn't allow item usage, and all the others are easier / you can spam potions/elixirs are as needed.
That's the one thing that's frustrating to me, there's no way to pump up the difficulty in the game to make needing some of these items anything more than just a collecting experience. Crossing fingers for New Game+ to add challenge or difficulty slider, something to make it less super easy (if not satisfying).
