This. I'd say the best villain is Caius, followed closely by Ardyn. After that, villain motives are kind of meh. Kuja essentially wants to bring chaos to Garland and Terra, then Gaia. Seymour, if you want to count him as the main villain of X (I would, since Sin itself isn't exactly a villain) wants to become Sin. Ultimecia wants to achieve time compression to avoid her death, but creates a time loop that guarantees it. Sephiroth wants to do stuff because he was created and his mentally insane. Kefka is just kookoo. Exdeath is a fucking glorious tree and wants the world to return to nothingness for a reason I forget. I don't really remember the villain's motives of IV. I only haven't played II and III.

I don't know how you can say that when they're essentially the same.

Immortal dudes got slighted, got bitter then tried to destroy the world in the most convoluted ways because having thousands of years to make a plan apparently makes it bloated.

I'd say FFXIII-2 presented this story with laughably bad characters (Sarah and Noel are probably the worst protagonists the series has had) and a dumb story due to Yuel 5000 while also being boringly melodramatic.

FFXV presents this story with good characters but a laughable amount of actual story content to the point where things barely hit because there wasn't enough to go on.

I mean in a game where the main character dies at the end I couldn't help but feel like the highest emotional point was talking to Prompto on the roof during an inn stay.

I wouldn't confuse Caius being the game's only saving grace with him actually being a good villain. I think the biggest difference is if you prefer a dark mystical whimsy to straight edgelord.

I personally liked Caius' story but absolutely hated the way it was presented. I didn't really care about anything in particular with Ardyn I just liked his general demeanor.

In what started almost three years ago at an informal meeting during the Tokyo Game Show to express admiration for each other’s work, the Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy XV development teams have announced a collaboration that will result in the two franchises paying homage to each other’s gaming universes. The two teams marked the announcement with a piece of artwork unveiled at this year’s Gamescom that features Bayek from Assassin’s Creed Origins and Noctis from Final Fantasy XV. Attendees at the show also had opportunity to get the artwork signed by Ashraf Ismail, game director at Ubisoft Montreal, and Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy XV.

However, eagle-eyed fans may want to go back and look at a Final Final Fantasy XV trailer from November of last year, the Assassin’s Creed Origins announcement trailer, and most recently, the Assassin’s Creed Origins Gamescom trailer to spot Easter eggs signaling the unofficial start of the references made between the two franchises.

“This collaboration is the result of being huge fans,” says Ismail. “There’s a lot of respect between the two teams and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the opportunity to pay homage to each other’s work.”

The collaboration kicks off on August 30, as Final Fantasy XV players who have obtained the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event will be gifted a very familiar Assassin outfit for Noctis. The very next day, August 31, will be the release of the free Assassin’s Festival DLC for Final Fantasy XV. The town of Lestallum will transform itself for the event with signs and banners signaling the arrival of the festival, and new activities will be available for players to participate in. It doesn’t end there. The Assassin’s Festival will have some additional themed items and features, including another outfit from Assassin’s Creed, along with abilities that enable Noctis to explore more like an Assassin and even use some of the Assassins’ more well-known abilities.

Will PC players be able to mod Final Fantasy XV at launch? What are your thoughts on that?

HT: There are were limitations to the game to ensure it ran on consoles, but that's less of an issue with PCs -- especially when it comes to modding. PC gaming has a culture of customization and modification, and we want to ensure that those gamers can do what they want to the game. We're looking into the possibilities of a dedicated level editor. We want to ensure that gamers will be playing FFXV for a long time to come.
