Even though games been in development now 10 years I'm still slightly worried about the amount of content. Reports are versusXIII didn't even go into full production till end of 2010 so if thats true it only had like a year in full production till the trigger was pulled on changing it to XV. Not to mention the several times it switched consoles and engines adding that to whatever was cut in the transition from versusXIII to XV. I wouldn't be too surprised if alot of those years spent didn't really amount to anything thats in the final game.

I thought the general consensus was that the game really wasn't in proper development until Tabata took over the reigns from Nomura. Which happened like 2~3 years ago. So saying stuff like "game's been in development for 10 years" is grossly exaggerated considering what really happened.

A lot of that was pulling people off everything to work on ARR though.

This is how I understand it. From what I remember, Tabata basically said nothing was really done and he had to start over when he took over the project.

XV not being in real development most of its 10+ years make you really wonder how SE operates as a company sometimes given the crazy way they have handled their games over the years. SE kinda haven't had their shit together since 12 though and have really stuggled with Sakaguchi leaving, transition to HD graphics, failure of XIV etc. Have to give Tabata alot of respect though for stepping into a game with such high expectations with little to nothing done yet on top of having to design the game around previously designed characters and story.

It's similar to XIV's development:

Despite being in concept since 2005, the game didn't exactly get started physical production until 2007, which was made evident by how barren FFXI's WotG was. As long as there's no Wada to push out XV early, it should be fine.

With the Norse/Latin thing they have going on, im really hoping she is some sort of Valkyrie or Dragoon. Simply delicious if her name turns out to be something like Freya, Sigrun or Skuld.
