So, since i'm assuming this game revolves around the mark of mastery....is it even anything worthwhile aside from doing it? like....(i asked this in BBS discussion) does it have any point in the story aside from like unlocking castle O?
So far... not really. It's just a story element, but that doesn't mean they can't add more to it (game play wise).
I don't like handhelds so I've yet to play any of the KH games on handhelds. I've been holding out for the thought that maybe, just maybe they will get back to the consoles. I really enjoyed the console KH's but this will be yet another KH game I won't play.
I remember them saying something along the lines of it being set during the course of both KH1 and 2. People kept questioning why they're wearing their KH1 outfits, so they said they're toying with the idea of making them change their clothes during the game...
Would be weird for Sora, since he changes outfit like 6 hours into KH2 lol.
Edit: Oh wait, during the course. I guess that makes more sense, though I bet the story won't.
Hey guys, remember when Kingdom Hearts used to be about Disney characters too?
Hm, maybe I misread it. I can't find the article that said about it, but I did find this one:

I guess we'll find out closer to release or when it comes out. Probably safe to assume it won't make much sense though, yeah.Speaking to the issue of Riku and Sora’s look, Nomura says there is a reason the two are dressed the way they are. While he wouldn’t reveal the cause, he acknowledges that this could cause people to perceive Dream Drop Distance as a remake. For this reason, he’s considering having Riku and Sora change clothes partway through the game.
