if anyone's interested.. i'm halfway through the game~ here's my review/POV relatively spoiler free.

    Spoiler: show

    It's awesome to jump off buildings, poles, etc and flying around, exploring all over the place for treasures. The maps are huge for every section compared to all the other games, which really surprised me. (Tron world was AMAZING.) There's like no place that's impossible to reach anymore, but... I kinna laughed when I got "high jump" since there's really no need for it. >___>;

    The pets are really cute... one of them ran up and licked my screeen after I did nothing but pet it non stop. XD XD although I really miss having characters of course.

    But every stage is also packed with different "minigames" to help you beat up enemies so it keeps them all nice and fresh and keeps the stages from getting too repetitive.

    So far it seems like EVERY game leads up to this one.... but they have chronicles and optional cutscenes you can view throughout the game, which is nice if you haven't played all of the games and you can catch up with the story (not that it makes a lot of sense to begin with) ;D

    Square Enix's revival of fan favorite DS title The World Ends With You may go beyond just a few cameo appearances in Kingdom Hearts 3D. In the latest issue of Nintendo Dream, Tetsuya Nomura, one of the main creative forces behind both games, made some comments that suggest a sequel could be on the way.

    Speaking about the character cameo appearances in KH3D, Nomura noted that the Raimu/Rhyme character did not have any lines for her appearance in The World Ends With You. She only had reaction voices. For KH3D, they decided to do voice casting for this character "out of consideration of the future of The World Ends With You series."

    This segment of the interview ended with an even stronger hint that a sequel could be on the way. Said Nomura, "Regarding The World Ends With You, I can't say anything at present... (laughs). But there probably is something."
    That's pretty coolio.

    Lol, SE doesn't seem to care about spoilers anymore. I guess they've spoiled most of the story simply by listing those characters <_<

    Square Enix Made One Helpful Change To Kingdom Hearts 3D
    Aside from the English voice acting, Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] is pretty much the same game Japan got in March.

    One of the main features in Kingdom Hearts 3D is the drop system, which forces players to switch between Sora and Riku when the meter runs out. It’s a mechanic, Co-Director Tai Yasue said, that adds tension to combat. When I spoke to Yasue, I told him about my experience of having the game "Drop" for the first time when I was in the middle of a boss fight. When I switched back to Riku the boss’ life bar refilled, but Riku’s health wasn’t.

    Yasue assured me that won’t happen in the North American version. Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will restore your HP before a boss battle begins. Basically, if you happen to "Drop" out during a boss fight Sora or Riku and the boss will all start the fight again with full health whenever you switch characters. This was a good move by Square Enix since replaying an entire boss fight after losing life from the same fight before the Drop was unnecessarily frustrating. I’ll just imagine Kingdom Hearts Rubicante healed both groups off screen so they can have a fair fight.

    Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] comes out on July 31 in North America. We’ll have a longer interview with Yasue on Siliconera after E3.

    Released yesterday in the UK. I'm about 3 hours into it now. The game forces you to switch between Roku & Sora after a set period of time which I didn't like at first but it makes sense. I guess it's to avoid you getting to the end of the game with just one character and then going back to the start and doing it with the other. Breezed through the first boss with Sora. With Riku, I had crappy spirits so the boss felt a bit harder, but I think it was supposed to be tougher overall.

    Next world, Notredame! :D

    I always do my 1st run through on standard, so critical isn't even unlocked yet. For the secret ending I'l need to go through proud mode eventually.

    You should at least start out on proud if there's no critical. It's just as easy as standard, and both are still a lot easier than critical.
