    thought this movie kinda sucked

I laughed way too hard at 2 things:

kid magneto going NEINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN and flinging shit around
during shaw's speech to the mutants, when he's like "be enslaved..." and they immediately cut to the only black person in the movie

also I'm gonna go ahead and say the cut to xavier meanmugging with a gun in his hand was intended to reference Wanted

How this happened while I was watching the movie was fuckin hilarious.. It started with 1-2 black guys off to the side bursting out in laughter followed by everyone else. It was almost like "Ok those guys are black so its ok to laugh."

I never even noticed he was in wanted, knew he was familiar though. What scene is this? Only time I remember a gun with him was when he was supposed to shoot Magneto.

Only thing I had trouble rationalizing in this movie(and I try so hard to turn my brain off during superhero movies) is when banshee grabbed havoc and was basically flying with one wing since the ginger couldn't hold the guy up with an outstretched arm.

And the second thing that annoyed me was when Eric held the coin up to Shaw and said he'd count to three and move the coin. The implication, I thought, was that he was count to three and then shoot the coin superfast-like through Shaw's head. But he was moving the coin while counting which defeats the obvious parallel that scene was supposed to have to the beginning of the movie, where Shaw would have stopped counting whenever the coin moved. Furthermore, Xavier can only freeze his mind, not his body. So, if the coin was pushing up against Shaw's head he should sooner topple over than have the coin slowly slice through his head.

Movie was great through, Azazel was my favorite. Motherfucker looks like the devil and during that CIA invasion scene he made it rain bodies, how cool is that?

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

<3ed him in Murder in the First. Though I don't think many people watched that movie lol. He was amazing in it though.

never thought people didn't know how good an actor he is.

the scene where azazel teleports the CIA dudes reminded me of the painting Golconde. Not sure it was intentional but I was bored so my mind wandered frequently.

But their bodies do "freeze" as they stay in whatever position Charles freezes their mind in, no matter how awkward. I figured their muscles must tighten up to keep them in place so Shaw's body was working to keep him from falling over when the coin was pushing against him.

I thought he could selectively freeze everything in time. In X2 when he froze the non mutants in the museum I think there was water from a fountain all frozen and shit.

I never read the comic tho

Then I'd ask whose muscles could stand up to a coin being pushed through their foreheads. Maybe Xavier could selectively use Shaw's powers and use his stored energy to be strong enough. But then the question arises why wouldn't Xavier just save the man since he didn't want Eric killing him.

I don't know, that scene was just hard to swallow for me since the easy solution was to have Magneto shoot the coin like a bullet through his head when he reached 3.

^Don't think he can freeze time, but I never read the comics either.

He can't freeze time, but as far as the scene in X2, one could possibly go so far as to say that, with a great deal of effort, he could psychokinetically hold everything still in a given space, though power of that level is usually reserved for the Phoenix.

Well, if he can only freeze people's minds then his hands would have dropped by his side instead of staying in the position he had it in. Either explanation doesn't really explain it very well. Which is why I choose to not question these things.

Magneto couldn't shoot the coin because of the "active" force of the coin would power Shaw. It's comic book logic, just go with it

and prof. x can't freeze time. he is only telepathic

I think they show it as if he's "freezing time" because the telepathic interaction really only takes a fraction of a second or something, right? At least in that scene in X2. For First Class I think they just overlooked the problem of physics as soon as a coin punctures a brain

Saw this last night and enjoyed it far more than any of the other three movies. I'd read on here about the part where shaw ends a sentence with "enslaved" and then the camera pants to darwin and it was so funny actually seeing the look on darwin's face at that point. None of the three friends i went to see it with picked up on it but i told them afterwards and they found it hilarious also.

Anyway, i'm not really sure where they can go if they can make a sequel to this as for me X1 is the next logical step.

Oh and hugh jackman's cameo had our showing rolling.

If anyone else loves the music from the full trailer, full version is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CDzL...002&feature=iv

Movie was better than i expected.

I keep saying this but any movie set in the cold war era is always going to be more interesting than one set in modern times. I wish more directors went this route with superhero movies. Subdue the cgi and special effects for more period pieces.

Movie was average at best... Story wasnt correct from a character perspective and they twisted characters into the story so that kinda ruined it for me.

I don't know. Both X and Magneto have a bunch of mutants that never showed up in X1. I wouldn't mind seeing more of Emma Frost and Azazel and Havok and seeing what happens to them.

I don't get the point of trying to call this a prequel to the other films, it doesn't fit in to the plot of the originals and it doesn't seem as though they were trying to do so.

Average good film. Two things bothered me:

Havok shooting lazerz hola-hops the first time he uses his power, complete with pelvic shaking.

Raven picking Shaw identity (helm included) when she obviously couldnt know about that. Minor thing I know, but still annoying.
