    Ghost Trick (NDS)

Has anyone else played this game?

I super duper recommend it if you like mystery and puzzle games. It really has the Phoenix Wright feel (made by the same team), so if you like that series, I think it'd be right up your alley.

(i love supporting the PW team ;~~~; The series is so great!)

Yeah, I'ved been playing this on and off since Tuesday. The comedy is pretty good, and you can definitely tell it's from the same team. When I saw blue detective and green detective I thought they were someone else we all knew. I was kinda hoping it'd be from the same "universe" but I guess not. Still though, it's very fun. I wish there were more than one route to things, but Phoenix Wright is usually the same way. I can see where they would want to add stuff in for a potential sequel. I mean you can pretty much do anything you want with ghosts.

So far I like it alot, it is very flashy and I like the mechanics and the animations they use when you go back in time. I also wish there was more than one way to solve the puzzles, I was hoping that would occur later in the game.

Also I gotta say, this is some of the best animation I've ever seen in a game. Handheld wise anyway. When I first saw the graphics in screenshots a year ago, I thought it looked terrible. Then I actually got my hands on it. They're fantastic. Every character has their own distinct style.

This game fucking rocks. 5/6, easy.

Probably my favorite Shu Takumi game to date, he is operating on a whole new level here.

Naturally comparisons to Ace Attorney/Gyakuten Saiban might be forming in your head, but understand it is not like that. It isn't like a normal adventure/visual novel game and you don't collect/present items or point out contradictions. You also don't solve mini-puzzles either. I can't think of any names of games which I can compare it to(but I know I've played them, probably on PC), but you basically control the environment as a scene plays out in front of you. You can only move/change things you are touching. Your movement is very limited and you have to move to object to object. So far it is has done a really good job at challenging me(though nothing has stumped me).

It is also a great game aesthetically, an amazing game in this respect. The 3D models on the DS actually look good, I don't want to puke. What makes these models more than good is that they animate incredibly well(one character in particular is so goddamn groovy, you will fall in love with him the moment he enters the scene). The art style is great. The music is great. The story so far has been great. Story is told in a very that is sure to keep you interested. Probably one of the best videogame intros ever lol.

EDIT: To better describe a sentiment I see popping up: It has great animation not in the way something like Uncharted does, but rather what you would want out of a cartoon.

Music is so good. Sometimes I just stopped playing to listen to music. Wonder if it is the same guy who does the gyakuten games. Also youtube comments contain spoilers I bet, so avoid that shit. Had to pick these almost blind.

Only thing that would have made the game perfect for me would be a challenge/mission mode post-story.

As good as the game is, once you beat it, that's it. Nothing new to see as the game's problem solving is a linear process. A challenge mode that took the gameplay and ramped up the difficulty while offering multiple paths outside of the constraints of a story would have been a blast to work through.

I fucking LOVE this game. One of the most charming games I've ever played. The story, especially the ending, is fan-fucking-tastic. And like I said before, it is really fun altogether. Be sure to play this if you have a DS(not sure what's the deal with emulation). ASAP if you want to avoid it going into "okay to spoil" status.

EDIT: Missile is my favorite dog in videogames! Also cool that Missile is the name of the dog from the AA series(forget when he first appears... 1-4 or the extra one from DS remake. He recently appeared in newest game.)

I don't think they're really 3d models. It looks more like they created the models/animations initially in 3d, than copy/pasted everything into sprites.

Yeah, it's all pre-rendered, painstakingly so as they're extremely smooth.

One of the favorite moments was in chapter 5

    Spoiler: show
When the green and the blue cop talks to eachother about how women can use fashion to make them look slim, and how the green cop says: "To this date, I still don't know how much my wife weighs."
