Looking for a software to choose Sound source

    Ok i'll explain more here

I have a sound jack in my monitor and I pluged in the back of my case and I have headsets that I plug in front of my case

But the problem is to choose where I want the sound to come out to

If i put my headset default in Windows 7 nothing comes out of the monitor and vise versa

So i want to be able to say

Exemple Itunes come out of my monitor
While Firefox and Vlc come out of my headset

    ETC

I know that Skype has a way to set it but I can't find for other programs

    Thanks

Program has to have a way to set the default sound output device.

Otherwise the program will use the default device at the time of application startup

Keep your windows default to speakers, then when you want an application to output to your headset change it to headset before you open the app, open the app, then change it back after. This only matters for apps not programmed to handle their own sound input/output devices.

I know ventrilo/teamspeak both can configure their own devices.

    Doesn't work

    I put exemple Speakers first

Then I opened Itunes and Firefox (they were closed)

Change my default sound to Headset

They play in headset both of them

If i change to speaker they both change to speakers even if the sound is currently playing

This is how my laptop worked with vista, but after I upgraded to windows 7 everything just used the default device unless it had the option to specify. Desktop works the same way with windows 7 as well.

You'd think this would have been coded into 7 a long time ago. They let you select volume separately for each application through the sound tool, but don't give you the option to use multiple devices at once..

Yea I guess they changed it in windows 7, sorry about the wrong info on that... I do know it worked at some point tho.
