Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will have dedicated servers

At first it looked as though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 wouldn’t have any dedicated server support, then Infinity Ward said they were “having conversations” about adding dedicated server suppport. Today, Call of Duty Elite dev Noah Heller tells Eurogamer that Modern Warfare 3 WILL Have dedicated server support. Hooray!

“The big announcement today is that we’re supporting dedicated servers for PC, which is really cool,” Heller told Eurogamer at Gamescom, adding that the Call of Duty Elite devs are “working really hard right now on the customised version of Elite for the PC [versions of Call of Duty games], because it’s an open platform and has some challenges.”

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is due to come out on November 8.

Cod elite $50. All map packs. 20 garunteed dlc pieces. Content each month. Daily prizes including a jeep. Tourny support. Dlc will be more then just maps. That's $50 you pay once? 50/year(or month, but it seems map packs is the most valuable thing there, so I wouldn't be able to justify it) is what I'd expect since a service which is constantly updated always gets the developer(s) upset after a bit of time goes by and they've made no profits since release.

I think there is 6 packs coming total. A little more about elite and founders status later but the bottom line. Buy elite, register by nov 13th and you will get the most out of the game. Activision is going to do a keynote in about a hr. In conferences past they show us multiplayer and a campaign mission

Oh and just to highlight this games ball crushing sales. we hit 2m preorders on mw2 or were just under. At launch of blops just over 2m. Mw3? We are already past 2m and are expected to have nearly 4m preorders.
