I signed up for verizon wireless on the 7th of Jan via amazonwireless and got a droid 2 global.
On Tuesday I called verizon to cancel the service because I decided I will wait on the HTC Thunderbolt to sign up. The next day I changed my mind after using my ATT device(galaxy s captivate) for a few hours. They told me my account "went on a hiatus" and wasn't fully cancelled and they reversed it.
Today I get an email saying my bill is ready(I already paid my first bill on the 14th, $118). The email states my balance due is 303 dollars. Obviously I'm like wtf. So I go on the website and I see this:
I called them and asked what was up and the girl told me I had a 700 dollar credit and they charged an ETF of 350 dollars. Apparently even if you cancel when you are not subject to an ETF it goes on your account and they credit it back to you. I don't understand why the credit was for 700 and not for 350.
She put me on hold for a few minutes and came back saying that she could not correct the billing error. I asked her what I needed to do about it and she said nothing. I then told her "obviously they aren't going to leave it like this" and she insisted that there was nothing to be done and informed me that with my current rate plan I will be good for 6 months.
This ever happen to any of you, did it backfire? Needless to say I love VZW right now.
