Well since I have a truck that's half as old as I am (which is 30 next weekend), having a bf that can fix cars is the most amazing thing. He's great in other aspects too don't get me wrong but man he is like my hero just by making sure I can take my happy ass to work every day.

He a mechanic or just got crafty hands? And yeah, I can't blame you (he's sounding like superman in that situation) but woman, you gotta get an upgrade

Just good with his hands, in more ways that one.

And yeah, want to upgrade the truck (as attached as I am to it) but lack the funds. Hoping the tax refund this year will be enough to hook something up.

I can't imagine something 30 years old and a truck at that is good on the fuel economy and I bet upkeep ain't too pretty either.

Any particular reason for the attachment to the truck? Oh, and as an aside... if you ever want to find out what 'really good with your hands' is like just holla. The doors stay open.

Truck ain't 30, I will be, starting next Sunday. Lol. Truck is 15. Well, almost. Fuel economy is indeed terrible but I just love it, the truck came with me to Texas when I got married, back to PA when I got divorced, and to Florida with me when I moved here. Pretty much one of the only things I've had this long.

And yeah, I can see how that'd be a reason to want to hold onto it. I guess I misread because for some reason when you said half as old I read almost as old.

The only reason I moved there was to live with my ex-husband, who was stationed in Fort Hood. We lived there a year, then split and I went back to PA and lived with my mom and my kids. Hate doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of how I felt about living in Texas. Then again, a big part of it was the fact that I was living with him.

Unfortunate that you didn't enjoy your stay. I feel like I've personally let people down when they leave here with a bad impression... Not anything I could have done, especially considering the timeframe and location, but still.

Only time I've been to Houston is just stopover flights so no, for the most part stayed in Killeen, drove to Mexico and back a lot though cause my ex's family is there.
