Starcraft 2 and Dota Disappearing?

Well it seems the SC2 only subforum was taken down so I guess posting here would be the appropriate section?

Anyway my problem is that dota seemed to have disappeared from the list of games on SC2. Did Blizzard patch this out? Because I doubt dota dropped from the top of the popularity list to the bottom of the list (I've went through like 10 pages >_>) instantly.

edit: nvm today it seems like it was on page 7ish maybe I just missed it still strange that it would just suddenly drop this low like it was forced >_>

The SC2 and SC2 Esports thread is still open and going. Can't answer about SC2 DoTA as I've never played it.

The popularity system was changed. Instead of it being based on total time of games played it's now based on number of games played (which is why DoTA is so far down on the list now).

Imo, the entire system is pretty shitty overall. Should have just left it the same as SC1/WC3.

I always thought that every time they released a new version of dota it starts back at the bottom of the list and has to work its way back up.

Well I was at Blizzcon and saw it first hand. There hasn't been any updates on what they are doing with it so I think it is safe to assume they are still working on it. The impression that I got from them is that they are putting a good amount of effort into it.

As a side note, I'm wondering what they are going to call SC2 DoTA now that Steam has trademarked DoTA.

I remember them touching on this. Since some maps are very short more games are played, raising their "popularity". I remember a dude asking a question about this to the Devs during the Q&A section of the panel and they said that was something that they have been looking into and will be addressed.

I play a lot of Phantom mode which can easily turn into 1-3 hour games depending on aggression and people running away, so it falls to the bottom A LOT.

NA battle.net changed from time played to games played, while EU battle-net changed from games played to total time played?

That sounds retarded. You sure you don't mean they changed it from games played to total time played? It seem strange EU and NA would have opposite systems, and change to the opposite at the same time and still have opposite systems.

Aiur Chef is fucking retarded. To me it is a game of who can do the gopher MMO quest the fastest while using shitty controls.

I haven't tried the Bejeweled knockoff and can't even find Left 2 Die on the list.

Bejewled takes FOREVER cause its best of 5, and way too many marines spawn while you play. Left 2 Die you'll have too search for it in the join game tab. it'll show up somewhere on that list!
