Authorities have charged a South Carolina woman with felony animal cruelty, saying she hanged her nephew's pit bull from a tree with an electrical cord and burned its body because the dog chewed on her Bible.

Animal control officers said Monday that 65-year-old Miriam Smith told them she killed a female dog named Diamond because it was a "devil dog" and she worried it could harm neighborhood children. SICK CCTV footage has captured two yobs setting upon a cat allowing their dogs to maul her before kicking the animal's lifeless body through the air.

Feral tabby Tooch can be seen being booted across the ground by one youth as one of the pair's four dogs attacks her.

The other, who had been callously watching, eventually pulls the beast away.

Heartbroken security guard Alf White, who looked after the moggie, discovered the harrowing CCTV after arriving at work at Knowsley Industrial Park, in Merseyside, yesterday and finding her bed empty.
Tooch had been living at the Fredal Tiles showroom in the park for more than five years and was treated as a pet by staff and customers who fussed over her.

Alf, who fed Tooch and even paid for her vet bills, said: "You see a Jack Russell mauling her and then a lad comes in and pulls the Jack Russell off and kicks her, our Tooch, just like that.

"In the morning I came in and said, 'where's Tooch?' I even went looking for her, searching the woods.

"Then I checked the CCTV and there it was.

"I couldn't see the front of the building where they've come in but I'm glad because I can't see all they've done to her."

The attack appears to have taken place just after 3pm on Sunday, not long after Alf visited the showroom to feed her.

Police are hunting the vile pair who tried to hide what they had done by leaving Tooch's body under a piece of cardboard.

One of their dogs appeared to be a lurcher with distinctive markings.
Alf had been dedicated to looking after the cat and made the effort to travel to the industrial estate on Christmas Day to give Tooch her dinner and recently paid a vet bill of £360 to have her teeth fixed.

He said: "I feed all the birds and she used to catch the birds and eat them, so I fed her. She was wild at first.

"But then she was lovely and happy and never ever scratched or bit me once.

"I want whoever did this to be caught and I'm going to do as much as I can.

"I want them caught and I want them prosecuted and I want them to go to jail.

"I've reported it to the police and they are going to investigate."
