My friend told me the anesthetic doesn't do shit and I don't know if he's fucking with me. I'm getting one wisdom tooth taken out each Tuesday for the next two weeks and I'm wondering if I'm in for some unimaginable pain.

should just get put under and have them all taken out at once

I had 2 taken out that were just numbed by a needle and it hurt a fair but I ain't no bitch and only cried a little bit

the 2 that I had taken out while under I didn't cry at all except for when they put the needle in my arm

get them all taken out at once, they put you under for the operation.

the recovery was rough for me, when the anesthesia wore off an hour later it was the most intense pain I've ever felt in my life. over the next two weeks it didn't get much better, couldn't open my jaw for about a month.

idk how they can not put you under either, don't they smash the tooth to bits to get it out, and the hammering it is what hurts your jaw? that's what my dentist told me anyway

depends on the tooth. I'm pretty sure I had my 2 top teeth pulled out whole, or at least 1 of them was, and that was done while conscious. The bottom 2 were more under the gums than the top ones and those were taken out while under

basically a whole ton of things can be different about your teeth in how impacted they are or angles they are at and how far they have broken the gums if at all. all of that will determine what you feel

when I was in high school a girl had hers pulled and kept them and made a bracelet out of them with the school's power drill.

I had all four taken out at once and the drugs they gave me for pain management were fantastic. Do that.

Otherwise, if it's numb, you'll feel pressure, but it won't hurt until the novacaine wears off. Unless you're resistant.

But hey, have fun at the dentist.

But yeah, I don't have insurance and I'm already paying a retarded amount of money to have some cavities filled and two wisdom teeth pulled out, don't really have another $600 or whatever for the shit that puts you under.

you can feeeeeeel him pulling it back and forth
you can feeeeeeel the tooth giving way
and you can feeeeeeeeel the POP when the tooth comes out

and oh boy, that shit does hurt.

i went to work 30 minutes later, and bled all over the place like a boss
then a couple hours later the oxy wore off and oh man did that hurt

have fun

AFAIK anesthetics only remove the pain. When I was having glass dug out of my arm I could still feel the guy DIGGING UNDER MY MUSCLE I just couldnt feel the pain. Felt weird as fuck.

Do they give you a prescription for painkillers or are you fucked once it wears off?

I only have one. The other three didn't grow out. People kept telling me they still might for the longest time, but I really hope they won't. I got the one I have few years back, and my dentist says it's healthy and doesn't need to be pulled out.
