This is the most retarded fucking thing I have seen my entire life. Give these people their fucking freedom.
They do in fact. iirc, it happened while the protesters were taking a bridge during the weekend.
All the Muslims went through with prayers, while all the Christians and seculars stood and guarded and protected them.
Not the least bit hilarious, but actually fucking awesome.
Idk, to me it seems reckless, stupid, and misguided, especially as I learn more and more about the intimate details of Islam, Muhammad, & the Quran. Focus on fucking task at hand, if anyone died because they were dicking around praying...
I may be remembering wrong, but pretty sure Judaism/the Talmud teaches to forgo Sabbath during times of conflict in order to safeguard your group. If I'm not mistaken from the days of yore when I learned this shit, it stems from the story of illiterate peasants fucking up how much oil they had left for the lights, aka Hannukah.
Seems dumb that Islam wouldn't have a very similar belief. I honestly can't picture the Israeli/Arab armies having breaks for daily prayers/Sabbath during any of their wars.

@Quannum who's map is that?
So Bahrain is the only non secular government of the bunch. If something happens there, could be interesting for all the other kingdoms in the region. Otherwise Syria/Lebanon is the other most interesting place.
edit: Algeria as well, because of the history of sectarian bloodshed post independence.
from http://interfax.werebuild.eu/2011/02...gy-of-the-90s/In January 2011 the fear of all internauts became bitter truth. A whole country was kill-switched by the government. The flow of data was interrupted, communication laid waste. Not only the Internets was taken down, other means of communication were interrupted too. Cell Phone providers took down their services.
The reason was a girl from Egypt who claimed her right for free speech and free political expression and called the Egyptians to go with her to Tahrir sqaure in Cairo in a video spread in the internets. People heard here and we know what happened after that. At a glance it was this video that activated the kill-switch.
Can't find the post that this is from, taking a stab and saying it's Stowastiq's, but is the video referenced available anywhere?
Asmaa Mahfouz a young Egyptian posted a youtube video on Jan. 18 urging her fellow countrymen to come out and protest on Jan. 25 against their lack of dignity and rights. The rest is history.
Looks like MSNBC at least is not fucking around about making it clear that the opposing pro-mubarak mob was organized and sent there. In their nightly news broadcast, everyone Lester, Brian and Richard are all safe. Something totally obvious was when they attacked camera men because all week the atmosphere towards the press was cool.

Aw there is an adorable tough 76 year old woman from America, Ft Worth TX who went to Egypt to study. Her family called MSNBC news saying she is alone trapped in her apt on Tahrir Sq [prime real estate property pre street war]. 12 men tried to break into her apt by taking the key from the door [dunno why the key was in her door] but she said she took the key and they left.
Brian Williams had her on the phone.
She has a Texan accent and she said: "I have a sharp knife, I have hot water, I have mah walkin cane and I have a bowling pin... so that's mah armoury."
lol I hope she makes it ok or shoves that bowling pin up someone's ass for trying to mess with her.
Starting today, Link TV has started broadcasting AJE's satellite feed in an effort to bypass the prejudiced US cable & satellite broadcasters. For now they are broadcasting at 4-4:30, 5-7:30, and 8:30-9:30pm PST.
DirectTV Channel 375, Dish Network Channel 9410, and for cable check your local provider's lineup or the Link TV channel finder.
The BBC's Katty Kay says that despite extensive aid and incredibly close military ties, the Obama administration does not seem to be able to say to President Mubarak that he must leave now and make the transition peaceful. He is digging in his heels. The army wants to make sure that there is stability but in such a way that it benefits the army. But if there are genuine free and fair elections, the army will lose some of its power.

I had Sean Hannity on my radio heading towards work today, because I like listening to him and Rush for some laughs. The guy had someone from the Muslim Brotherhood on for a "debate" and then Hannity and another woman tore into the guy while he was trying to tell them that his group did not support what Iran viewed as Shirah law.
Seems there's another protest underway in Turkey, at the Egyptian consulate, denouncing Mubarak.. atleast based off Reuters.
@Eowyn9 I'm hearing a wave just arrived from Asr El Nil. It seems they're launching a final, full-scale attack now. #Jan25 #Tahrir
