I can't imagine this ending well for the Egyptian people no matter what happens now though. If they persist and don't stop the protest he's probably going to start getting aggressive against them or perhaps people finally snap and go batshit crazy which won't likely end well for anyone (except the media). Aanother possibility is they just break and go back to the way things were (unlikely) which would make this all have been for naught.

This is just sad, but I guess inside I expected no less. Reality is he is safe guarded enough that as far as he looks at it he has no reason to leave. More than likely he refuses to be put on the history pages as being taken down, and doesn't want live up to his nickname of "the last pharaoh". They just showed a map. Apparently the route they are taking leads to both State TV and the Palace. It's about 5-6 miles away from the square.
