6-8 people isn't a "few". It's a lot. And you've must have never farmed for an empyrean gaxe or dagger cos it is a pretty mindless mob. It doesn't take a genius to know to turn when it does a TP move and stun gorge/disgorge.

I prefer stunning Slowga, Extreme, Disgorge, Stonega with my mule army.

Gorge can get you pretty good if you don't have shell after an extreme, other then that its usually pretty weak.

i'm rather offended by this. take a shout group with 6 people and 6 people that are actually skilled and do the same nm. i'm willing to bet the skilled group will not only proc it every time but also kill it faster and have all the time extentions they need to keep going till they have all the drops they need while the shout group will pop the nm 3-6 times and have to add stones during.

Glavoid in particular is just one of those mobs that's better with less people. I've seen shout groups actually tell 2/3 of the alliance just sit there and do nothing versus him because retards just make the fight take longer.

Most people complaning aren't really complaining about difficulty for themselves but more about the loss of status that FFXI always used to have for the gear they obtained. Having any gear now means nothing and so standing around afk in port with it is kinda retarded, full af+2? empy weapon? meaningless really.. anyone can get those with only a modest group and a small investment of time. This imo is what fuels the whiners most of all.

FFXI was always about the biggest shells showing off the HNM drops to the populace, standing in a visible spot in whitegate. That is what the complainers really hate about the new all inclusive FFXI, the loss of that...that and the loss of status being in a particular shell used to give...now even socials can get pretty much anything so any kind of hierarchy no longer exist, for shells or players.

When your WHM has unlimited mp it definitely doesn't require much skill. Procing isnt really that hard either, just gotta be able to tell when a mob is casting and wait for a JA lol. Just my opinion.

shouldn't people just be grateful the game is still alive & fun at this point? they could've just stopped updating the game after the first 3 $10 addons and i don't think anyone would've been terribly surprised.

I think they've hit an interesting medium for difficulty in FFXI. For good players who have good friends, the game is a walk in the park. Could not be easier to cleave shit down, kill some level 80 NMs, and collect an Empyreal. Still, there are fights (like Shinryu, Rani, etc) that are a challenge if you do them without a brew.

For bad players, the game is almost impossibly difficult and everything they achieve is inadvertently the result of a good player's effort. Still, these players have access to Brews and things so they can easy-button shit.

The game currently allows you to choose your own difficulty. If you aren't fighting hard fights, that's your choice and it isn't really something you should complain about. If you think the fights are too hard, grind out 200k cruor or get good at the game.

This is the meat of it really. In my shell before level cap passed 75 we were basically Newb paradise. We did all old content Einherjar / Sky / Sea / Limbus ect ect but always struggled. Zombieing Kirins / Cerb's ect all so we could get the kill. 80 cap alone Perle Set was the best thing that happened to our DD's!

Now we have 5 of us that are top tier we kill anything we dont die and its great. But I still have to manage a shell of 22+ people who all want Empy's / Af+2 and its almost impossible to run a "Normal" Event in abyssea when 18 people all want in on it. We dont have the proper player make-up to do 3 groups of 6. and even 2 groups the Skill level is basically Whm+Mnk and 7 people watching them kill stuff all night. Whole linkshell events are rather annoying and un-productive because of abyssea and this "Easy mob"

Also! Does anyone else live there whole abyssea life with-in Blue !! Time zones? Mnk being able to proc all but one blue means I only go into abyssea between 22-6 for the last 2 weeks now >.>

Just quoting on some people all over the forums quoting that Advanced is becoming a total joke to read in terms of knowing how to fucking read and stating that the entire "noob" population of BG can read the goddamn stickies and not make fucking useless topics. First thing I notice is all the people making this quote of actually reading the fucking stickies are doing it with their literacy skill or so. So if a noob can kind of read USE THE GODDAMN RANDOM QUESTION THREAD (without all caps of course, I don't count that as a fair play item), that means it's childs play or brainless? I don't read most stickies and pretty much take a tl;dr of the stickies but it does require a lot of dedication and focus to actually fucking read with so few braincells. Granted elementary school has made things easier but I do not believe that because you can maybe read a few stickies doesn't mean it's less skills. More reading = more skilled due to the fact that you can just throw words at Advanced until you figure out what the fuck. Less reading = more margin of error and not reading the fucking stickies can be quite pivotal which imo merits more skill and more focused banning your fucking shit. Also BG imo has been the greatest it has ever been. The way it used to be was extremely biased and less fair. Is it because these admins cannot monopolize all the banning that means things are worse it's not only in their favor? Feel free to reply to this post. I know this is a rant but I had to share my thoughts as I couldn't be fucked to actually write out a coherent, formatted discussion point because I'm fucking illiterate and like making shit topics which is fucking annoying and I wanted to speak my voice.
