Coming out in Feb.23rd. Technically not a game itself, but it still deserves a thread and this is the best section to do it in.

PlayStation RPG classic Xenogears is getting a new soundtrack some 13 years after its 1998 release. Square Enix opened an official site today for "Myth: The Xenogears Orchestral Album."

This album contains 14 newly recorded full orchestrated tracks from Xenogears. The songs were selected based off fan voting, with composer and producer Yasunori Mitsuda making the final selections. Recording was done in Bulgaria.

Access the soundtrack official site for a music sample, a track list and a (Japanese) message from Mitsuda.

The soundtrack will see release on 2/23 at ¥3,000.

Humans+Gears is great but I also recommend Creid for OST variations

Man Xenogears has so many album arrangements. I've personally got the OST, Xenogears Creid, and Xenogears Light, and I'll definitely get this too. And then there's the stuff like the above hip hop and ocremix variations.

Not that you'll hear me complaining, easily the best game music I've ever heard, and easily beats out the vast majority of movie scores imo. I won't deny there is some nostalgia there for an amazing game, but its more than just that. Xenogears just had some amazing music that could and does easily stand on its own.

I'd say all my favorite tracks are on that above list too, which is awesome. Flight, Mermaid, Lost.., Shevat, Bonds, Promise, Peace & Regret. Probably most looking forward to Peace and Regret and Mermaid, always two of my favorite tracks.

Xenogears is definitely one of my favorite games of all times (quite possibly my favorite) and I was extremely happy to see this. Definitely picking this up.

To the S.E. Gods: Remake of Xenogears, please. Fuck FFVII.

This is an amazing news, and it's coming out in 3 weeks... ANTICIPATION!!1! The tracklist is awesome (Flight, Bonds of sea and fire), i wonder if it can get even more impressive than Xenogears : Creid.

Still waiting on that Chrono Cross arrange album that was supposed to be released 5 years ago, though !

Things like this are kind of why the novelty of ocremix wore off me. When you can't even recognize the original song anymore, can you really call it a remix? Borrow a chord here, change the tempo there, try out some different instruments, sure... but man, some people really blur the line for what I suspect to be simple grabs for attention using a song name fans may have liked.

will have to look into this simply for the inclusion of Faraway Promise, my favorite track. Mitsuda is so good with simple melodic tracks, and Faraway Promise was one of his best.

Well what do you expect..? The actual song is 7 seconds, thats not much to work with which is what makes it impressive.

Hmm? I found the tune immediately. The 7 second tune kicks in about 30 seconds in like almost note for note. The tempo is just decreased. Then again, I've heard the Xenogears OST many, many times, to the point where all I need to do is hear like first 3-5 seconds to know what it is/where you hear it. Same with CC, CT, FF-1-9 OSTs. lol
