Ash is the main character of Pokemon. If they all go on a side quest for Brock to get laid, that doesn't make Brock the main character of the show.

not enough focus is put on just her as a character, instead it's all spread out across everyone.

This is so false, I don't even know how to approach this without wanting to just treat you like a complete idiot. There's only 3 characters the game even focuses on stronly to any degree.
Basch, Ashe and Balthier.

Balthier's only in the spotlight when they talk about Cid which, honestly, isn't that much. He gets his moment in the spotlight at two whole parts of the game after Ashe has joined. Once in Archades and once again in the Pharos, both times Cid is present and that's the only reason. Then there's Basch, he's very much the same, either he's talking about supporting Ashe or dealing with Gabranth and this happens only a couple of times in the game. Every single other part of the goings on is focused on Ashe, what more do you really need?

Ashe is a descendant of the dynast king, this is a major plot point and it's the major focus of a lot of scenes. She's in direct opposition to Vayne because it's her people that have been oppressed by the empire and she wants to liberate them and also after finding out that vayne wants to go to war and dalmasca will basically be the battleground, as dalmascan royalty she's trying to stop that. She's the chosen one by the occuria and so on. Damn near every. single. thing. and almost every scene is focused on ashe ashe ashe.

Seriously, nearly every single thing that happens in the game is focusing on Ashe and her relationships with Vayne, and Larsa and her 'duty' as a descendant of the Dynast King and a member of the Dalmascan royal house.

Shame that Fran has the absolute worst stats in the game (making her the best candidate for guns even though the game makes Balthier to be the main gun user by default, go figure)

I regretted choosing fran as a main character but that was after I had already used her enough that I didn't want to swap in a lower level person without the same quickenings. I think I kept her with bow and had her the main caster/healer

The main problem with the Wyrmhero Blade, imo, is that once you get it... there's really not much to do with it anymore.

I used it for the last boss fight, which surprised me by still being at least a little difficult after I'd gotten all the big super items.

Speaking of which, I need to finish my 122333 save on the international version. I'm saved right before going on to the Bahamut
