When you get control of Vaan, he's level 1, when you get Balthier and Fran, they're level 2, when you get Basch, Penelol and Ashe, they're level 3.

I don't get why would SE make a decoy protagonist? It all makes sense now, on why I dislike this game so fucking much. I couldn't put my finger on it but now I get it.
Vaan took the focus off of Ashe/Balthier.. Why did they pick such a pussy looking nigga as a decoy? Even Hope could have been a better decoy..

Final Fantasy X: Horrible plot. Horrible ability system. Horrible main character. Incredibly stereotypical supporting characters.
I've never had so little fun playing a game that I wanted to like. The plot was way too soap opera-ish.
Tidus: Ghost-ish manifestation of the souls absorbed by the world-eating monster, currently his father.
Jeckt: Former extreme sports champion, currently world-eating monster. Tidus' father.
Auron: Tidus' father's ghost roommate
Yuna: Human sacrifice who falls in love with a ghost and cries about it for the rest of the game.
Riku: Mouse trapped in a human body.
Wakka: A combination of every stereotype that exists, including some that contradict each other. Ya?
Lulu: A silent goth chick with big boobs, as if apologizing for how much Riku talks, how annoying/weepy Yuna is, and how they're both on the A-side of the bra-scale.

It "failed" because FF fans are pants on head retarded and can't understand that Vaan isn't the main character in the story despite the game being largely from his perspective.
