It's just humans you can't kill I believe. I joined forest covenant until I beat spiderbitch, then I joined chaos covenant. I then went back to the forest and killed a bunch of the humans for souls. When I talk to Alvine now, she still gives me the option of joining the cult. So you just can't kill them when you're in the cult, but if you kill theem when you aren't she doesnt care at all.
And yes, I prefer to call them cults instead of covenants.

and you don't *need* to enter the door I dont think. There's a back way through behind the Hydra.
Just know that going that way means you might get raped by some pretty strong plant people and some black cats.
Get the crest to unlock the door anyways. it's a lot faster

Oh I already got the quest, I just don't want to kill this npc called Shiva by accident as I want to buy the sword from him. I also heard there are some pretty nasty invaders in there. I picked the perfect time to do this with my 40k souls to buy my stuff and 14 humanity lol.

Jesus christ how am I supposed to do this Ornstein and Smough Fight? I get utterly destroyed before I get even 1 of their HP down to half.

You killing any of the phantoms has no effect on wether or not you can join the Covenant, just know that once you do enter it, you can't kill anything in the deeper parts of the forest. (Phantoms included)

Also Dont attack the Treants as well, but they attack you

Fighting 2 npc phantoms and a dark phantom at once is hard mmkay.

btw, what is the best way to get Humanity? I need to get like 30more for Chaos covenant.

I had to farm it by killing Rats in the Depths. =/

Took me about 4 hours to get the 30 I needed.

Just Sprint past them all heading pretty much straight from the stairs into the forest. You should quickly come across a busted up building, thats where the cat is for covenant but you'll wanna keep running through to lose the mobs chasing you and then double back when its safe. The other side of the ruins has nothing that aggros except for 2 giant mushroom men standing in a pond guarding a chest with the Magic ember for the vinheim smith. Also I've read you should quit and reload the game after joining the covenent because the npcs may still aggro you, not sure if its true but doesnt hurt to be sure.

Yeah I made it by darting for them. Can I kill these trees that are attacking me and not mess up the covenant?

I kill them all the time near the blacksmith entrance and haven't been booted yet, I think its just the members of the covenent (human mobs).

From what I've heard/seen, it's the humans, the Mushroom Men, the Black Cat monsters and the Treants in the deeper parts of the Forest.

Pretty sure I've killed the treants back there and didn't get booted.. It's only the humans. the wiki seems to agree.
I'd rejoin and kill some, but i'm already 10humanities into the Chaos Covenant.

Another decent way you can get Humanity is if you are farming something else just put down your white sign and help people in whatever area you are farming in kill the boss. I got a lot farming stones off leeches in Blighttown and helping people kill the spider boss.

I joined, but now I'm just kinda standing around waiting for it to invade I guess? I have this ring equipped and now I'm just waiting.
