GDI a gravelord put a marker somewhere in Blight Town and I have no clue where he hid the damn thing. The marker will only stay in Blight Town right? I'm done here so tbh idc as I'm going to Sen's Fortress next but will it follow me there too?

With Havel's Ring:
-Gold Hemmed Hood
-Smough's Body/Gauntlets/Legs
Without Havel's Ring:
-Gold Hemmed Hood/Robe
-Smough's Gauntlets/Legs
Either way I stay in the 25-50% zone. Smough's is ugly but its an even stronger Havel's with less a few less kgs of weight to it
so I played drunk tonight and the painting world pissed me off, that dragon is bullshit, my fireball thing does like 500 damage but i can't cast without getting caught in like 4 hits of his poison breath. I give up ima go do shit now
Started playing today finally. All was going well until I found an ironclad guy at the bottom of a big spiral stairwell that one-shot me with his giant curved smasher thingy. Also, it seems I can't parry to save my life.. I only get it off like 1/10 of the time. D:
i was gonna cheese that dragon with arrows but i ran out, if you can dodge the first breathe thing. and get right under his head against his body, he might not can hit you, worked for me anyway. fire rocks his face off too
as for gear, atm i'm using mask of the child, ornsteins body/hands and antiquated skirt, rings change so often, but usuall ring of steel protection and whatever else
rocking full Havels cept Mask of the Father, havels ring to get me unde 50% weight and and currently maining Murakumo+15 with Lifehunt Scythe+5 as my secondary.
Has anyone noticed a cap on stat scaling? after 40ish Dex my B rated weapons are only getting +1 attack. Also I just finished butchering 10 or so forest defenders before someone with full havels came along and I Couldn't just stagger and combo ftw. Is there no SL requirement to invade someone there because they were extremely easy to kill.
Ok greatshield of artorias is bad.ass. 4 more stability than havel's shield and 10lbs lighter
Dusk Crown
Black Iron Gloves+2
Antiquated Skirt+5
then, wihout Havel's Ring:
Dingy Robe+10
with Havel's Ring:
Black Iron Armor+5
Both keep me in the 25~50% range at 20 endurance. I can switch the gloves to leather and use the robe to be under 25% w/ Havel's, but it's usually not worth it, I like the extra defense.
Takes 10 Twinkling Titanites to upgrade the Black Iron body piece to +5, but at that point it gives better defense than Havel's and is about 4.0lbs lighter. The skirt at +5 is probably the best leg gear in the game, the defense and resistances on it are pretty ridiculous and it only weights 3.0lbs. Only real penalty is less poise.
For weapons, Pyro+5 (ascended) / Sorcery Catalyst / Furyblade+5 / Lightning Winged Spear+5, depending on the situation. Rings change pretty much all the time. Usually two of: Steel Protection, Bellowing Dragoncrest, Havel's and Wolf's.
Had my fiancees parents come over last night, and they were curious since we had the games and book out and we were talking about it. Verbally gave them some instructions on the game. Her dad got to the boss without dieing but basically zerging his way through, and after 4 tries, her mom killed the asylum boss. Is it bad that they did something 99% of gamers will never do... I also recorded the entire hilarity, and will post it on youtube later. Some of the funniest shit I've seen
Nvm sorry
so fighting the taurus demon for the first time. Yeah, he jumped off the ledge and killed himself hahahah

I metaphorically shit my pants my first taurus run through. Getting the master key and not knowing about havel fucked my shit up.
that sounds fucking beyond awesome WTF?! your parents not only played the game but were actually good at it?

beating dark souls tutorial level is no accomplishment. I'm sure my 8 year old sister could beat it
Dude, my parents would've died to like the first mobs in this game, repeatedly after I told them how to control shit.
new londo is just the worst. i keep wandering off edges, straight wasting my transient curses lawl
My parents would have had enough trouble holding the controller and turning the camera while playing
In other news, to take a break from my mage for a bit, I started a new character yesterday and made it into a def/resistance build. Just got to anor londo today, so I figured I'd take a break and farm some souls to buy more spells/upgrades/etc. I forgot I was still in human form and got invaded like 30 seconds after entering the gate past the bonfire in Darkroot.
And holy fucking shit, this build is amazing for PvP. Must have gotten invaded like 12~15 times back to back without being able to go back to the bonfire and still made it out alive. Got attacked 2v1 and even 3v1 a few times and still won.
Halberd moveset is really good against people who keep trying to backstab: wait for them to circle around, turn slightly so the backstab whiffs, press R2 for AoE attack and 1/3~1/2 of their health is gone. R1 is kind of a trap too, since the second hit is also AoE and you can wait forever after whiffing the first thrust before hitting it. People see the thrust whiff, think I'm open and dash in to backstab then get smacked in the face by the second hit :D.
It's kind of funny when people realize it's not going to be easy and start running away and playing defensive. I backed one guy up so far he didn't realize he was cornered and walked backwards into a cliff, just from me walking towards him, lol.
