Arguably, the best armor is Elite Knight +10. Everything about the armor is way above average except poise, but more importantly, the weight is pretty low. Unless you use giant, slow weapons, poise doesn't really matter much. It offers really similar defense to Havel Armor.

The caveat is you need 4 titanite slabs to get to all the pieces to +10. The set is found in Dark Root Garden I think.

Edit: At +10 and even +9, Elite Knight is better in almost every way than the Paladin set. Don't upgrade that.

elite knights once upgraded is a great def to weight ratio imo.

i believe at end 35 + ring of favor i was able to rock full elite + eagle shield + captain america shield + w/e weapon i was using at the time

Wraiths in New Londo can drop them. I think you can get one from the bird as well, so maybe just do bird glitch for INFINITE SLAB GOODNESS. I dont know the trade item off the top of my head

You can get a guaranteed one every game from the Stray Demon and another one if you finish Sigmeyer's story bit. It's also possible to get them as a drop from the crystal lizards in the Hollow. Beyond that, only other way is as an extremely rare drop from Darkwraiths. Imo you shouldn't even bother with that, just start a new game if you've gotten it from everywhere else. I've killed a ton of those guys farming titanite chunks and have yet to see a single slab.

I've been doing Havel's ring and heavy armor but I want to switch to medium so I can change up my ring options.

Elite Knight's is (I think) the highest defense you can get without stamina penalties. Regular Knight's set (starter gear for Knights, found near the Darkroot hydra for everyone else) is same poise and almost the same defense for about 2.0 less weight.

Can't get them from Snuggly. Only 100% drop I know of is the Stray Demon.

I don't believe it. I spent hours farming them with a shitload of humanity and didn't see one drop. I must have killed 150 of them. I'd want to see a screenshot before I believe it, I gave up.

Trying not to read the thread to avoid as many spoilers as I'm willing to not have, but I know I fail at this game, the bell gargoyles are making me rage. Playing warrior (probably first mistake i know) ended up going more dex over str because I am liking the spear and it helps with my bow. I think I'm lvl 16. Got +5 spear, +2 body armor, +0 everything else. Read a sign that said they are weak to fire, so I bought like 50 firebombs, and they work well, doing like 120 damage a bomb. But I get butt raped as soon as that second gargoyle spawns. He spawns based on the health of the first one, right? I try to maneuver around them and get burninated by the fire... feels like I'm missing something, or maybe I should try and +5 all my shit and level up more x.x

Yeah, he spawns at @50%. They're also really weak to lightning so if you have the Gold Resins (can find a couple before them) then they work great.

Okay, yeah I have 3 of them I believe. Don't know why I didn't try it before, but you can block some of his normal hits which help a lot. I guess I just gotta get lucky and hammer one down quick, then I shouldn't have a problem.

Drake sword and use your best fire-resistance shield. When they stop to shoot fire they're pretty vulnerable if you can get on the side of them... usually can swich to 2 hand and get 2-3 hits in before needing to roll away. Once you get the first one dead, it's cake.

No idea what drake sword is, maybe I missed it. And man, I keep forgetting about 2-handing the weapon... I just tried again and got one down to like 15% and the other to like 2% lol, I'll get it down after school, I hope @.@

You get it from destroying Hellkite Dragon's tail - the one on the bridge that breathes fire when you try to cross. You need to buy a bunch of arrows (like 50-60 would be good) and shoot his tail from the part under the bridge which leads to the room with rats.

It is true. I scored a slab off of one immediately before the 4 Kings fog gate.

The hands, even upgraded, are kinda shit, but still ok for their weight.
Do you think you are making a fair comparison between EK+10 vs unupgraded Paladin?

They do drop just make sure you have as much item find as you can. I got 2 Slabs in 3 session worth of farming. Each session was in the 1-2 hour range. I had 410 item find.

Or just don`t auto lock and sprint on firebreathing gargoyle's back whenever it starts breathing. In some fights auto-lock is just making things harder, this is one of them. Actually try to learn how to play without auto lock alltogether, it will help you a lot in PvP.
