Sweet Jesus, finally got the Ornstein Soul.
Went through 10 flasks, 1 humanity, 4chaos fireball, 18fire orbs, 8fireballs, and 3 poison mist.
I got real unlucky. Smough was playing crazy defensive and kept jumping back 2-3 times on the far opposite side of the room while Ornstien was trying to kabob my face.
Stupid Smough's hammer absorbed like half of my spells and I equipped an Attunement ring since there wasn't really much else that was going to help me. Poison works on Smough, Ornstein, and super Ornstien btw. I didn't try toxic. Poison helped speed up the fight a little on Super Ornstien. They both backed up when I was using Poison, but they didnt seem to car about walking right into the cloud right after.

They really slowed down the use of one handed axes/great swords. I don't know but it bothers me. I want to do an Axe run but the shit is so slow.

Fuck ceaseless discharge and his bullshit hitboxes. I rolled out of the way to the left and got thrown to the right.. guess which side of me his tentacle landed on. I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the left.

you're doing it wrong

aggro him, have him follow you to the white portal, attack his hand, win.

it's not just agroing him. you have to run all the way to the back corner where the armor was first.

Just beat Stray Demon on NG+. still don't see how people have trouble with this boss. Beat him without taking a single hit (again).

Meh I beat him by using the tunnel. I wanted an awesome fight of awesomeness where I had to dodge to survive. But all I got was gimmicks. D:

Well tbh, the point at which you encounter him, every boss thus far is blockable, so at first it's difficult to adjust to. Then, he's the first (only, I don't count nito you have plenty of time) one that you TAKE damage as soon as you enter the arena, which is largely the most difficult part of the fight.

Not saying it's hard, but for your first time encountering him, I could see him being a pain.

Man, I'm disappointed, just got my mage to the 90s in SL and the shitty stat scaling is starting to set in. Last 3 points in INT only increase the MA on logan's catalyst by 1 (total, not each), and I'm still at 60. Such a letdown, considering it didn't even become better than regular catalyst until 48.

I was going to try to take INT all the way to 85ish on this character, but now I'm starting to think I might just be better off putting more points in VIT/END :/

That's insane. If you kill one and then die to the supermob, does the one you killed stay dead? If not I think I'm going to spam 3 stooges to level 100, cause that fight is kicking my ass.

No, the whole fight resets. and it's the 1st part that's the hardest. second half just takes lots of patience.
However it is seriously a whole lot easier if you kill Ornstien first, but if you want to 100% the game, you'll need to kill them both last at least once.

It's an A quality drop (S is the rarest)
Try to get to 410 Item Discovery, helps alot. Also, there's a spot where you can fight 4 of them at once, that is a short run. It requires you to open up the Annex door though (the one with the key, not the switch)
Basically run straight in, hook a right at Phalanxes into the chapel like area, go through the door that needs the key, up the staircases, hook an immediate right when you hit daylight again, and then up the large staircase. Kill the one bughead fire shooter guy, you'll see two demon birds on a platform, lure them out, because if you go up there two more will come. Cap shield is pro for this.(then again what ISN'T it pro for)
Kill them, homeward bone, rinse repeat.
