Yeah, with Demon Souls my friend and I would either chat via phone or xbox chat to figureout where to "meet". I wonder if From made it even harder to join a specific person this time around. I don't mind either way, but he really raged at a lot of the bosses so I had fun helping him out. I think he would have murder-suicided had I not lol.

This time, I just wonder if that same thing will be possible. "Ok I am just inside the 2nd hallway behind the door" He would head there, let me know, I would drop the Blue Stone and he would see it and summon. If From decided they didn't even want to make that possible and instead made joining a much more stranger focused thing... then it may be i lose a friend and his family this time around. =P

In case you don't feel like watching, it is nearly 30 seconds of a character just spamming 100XP Soul Orbs. I really hope that IF this is real and easily done it gets patched. Even IF it only works for 100XP orbs. Even ignoring the fact that it would take a ridiculous amount of AFK/idling to get a decent amount of souls, it still breaks shit.

On the topic of the patch, I am hearing that the 1.02 patch is supposed to hit tomorrow.

Oh and I just watched a player use a dagger to counter, so that is confirmed. Looks like you have a bit wider window timing wise, but if you eff up... you get hit much harder obviously.

Things that will be spoiled (duh right?) if you watch this - Sen's Castle area (traps, mobs, etc), stats screen stuff, some armors, some minor puzzles, a little NPC dialogue, some item locations, and a boss. That said, one of my favorite videos so far!

It is in Sen's Castle and Phil is using a Magic User (awesome for anyone, like me, who has wanted to see how gameplay is with a caster). I take the video for what it is, mostly comedic. I do like their commentary though, and I had not seen this area before. Really like the details in this area a hell of a lot.

I liked his point... the thing is, he can't be mad at the game because HE was the dumbshit that forgot about it. He can only blame his dumb ass self. I also think I will feel the same about deaths like that, not going to hate it. Going to hang my head, feel stupid, love the game and do it over.

The soundtrack for this game is amazing, although I kind of miss the Demon's Souls type ones that felt more chaotic and had a more baroque style.

Awesome, so if you invade a lot, you get tossed into the Book of the Guilty right? As well as if you break/betray Covenants? Then it looks like you can be a Blue Phantom and take revenge on them? I just saw the streamer AND another player both destroy this guy as Blue Phantoms.

Becoming cursed means losing half of your health bar--and lifting the curse involved sprinting through the murky New Londo ruins, avoiding ghosts while seeking the special healer who can lift the curse. After idling for too long in a demon's abode, a bulbous growth has sprouted on my head, and I can no longer equip a helmet. Now I have a giant tumor growing on my neck instead of a head, and no access to the defensive benefits of the black-hemmed hood I love so much!

And you can still summon/be summoned to the worlds of other players--or invade them. Invasions have returned as well, but some parameters have changed. For instance, a key NPC was killed in my game--and I was given the chance to invade the world of the phantom that assassinated her.

That seems harsh, after not letting Black Phantoms kill NPCs in DS. Anyone know if he is referring to the part when you get invaded by an NPC? Possible this is a scripted NPC death? I can't imagine you could have any rando NPC killed off by invaders... Watching a stream now with some co-op and the phantom player that was summoned can't even see the NPCs, they are there but they are ghosts pretty much. Very faint ghostlike looking. I assumed that was what BPs see as well.

From the GameSpot reviewer:For you folks and others asking, to be clear, players cannot come and kill your NPCs all willy nilly. This is a specific character in a very specific circumstance, and not a vital one. I reassure you that other players won't be coming in to muck up your NPCs.

Looks like it's just going to be a npc phantom that plays the same role as Yurt.
