Dark Souls: Prepare to Die (PS3/360/PC)

Holy fuck, that thing ate me alive.

So funn story about that guy... lol

I run down to the basement, looking for a fucking bonfire, and find that dude. Hits me and takes almost all of my stamina, so I roll away and book it the fuck out of there. So I chill at the door to the basement for a sec, then see that he fucking followed me all the way up, so I sprint all the way up to the top and enter the fog. Thinking I'm safe, I walk towards the end of the bridge cautiously thinking the red dragon is going to show up. Then bam this giant motherfucker drops out of the sky. I saw people jumping off things to kill him, so I sprint past him and try to look for a ladder on the far side... no ladder. So I sprint to the otherside with the archers and climb up. Figuring I'm safe, I take my time killing the archers. Kill one, then BAM mother fucker just jumped up the fucking side and I shit my pants and promptly died.

So I ran for my life, scared as fuck from that one guy, find a boss battle and run around scared as fuck again. It was hilarious to me, hopefully you find it funny too XD

yeah, I've come to the realization that these enemies don't give up like Demon's Souls enemies. Probably to prevent the backstab and run tactic.

Rolling mechanic is so much different compared to demon souls, it seems. Since I've been playing it the past few weeks, seems like rolling has been lessened and shields have been strengthened. I wonder how this effects focus for characters armor sets and thief-like fighting styles that tend to go away from shields and more towards rolling. Additionally, from playing thief and warrior, the larger shields seem to parry faster than the buckler types.

And someone above said that maximum speed is now 1/4 burden instead of 1/2?

I thought this game was pretty easy compared to Demon's Souls. I was barely dying except from stupidly rolling off ledges and trying to kill those stupid crazy strong black knights, but after an hour in the Parish, I see that is quite the opposite.

I thought the dragon was going to show, and didn't expect the Taurus Demon to pop out of fucking nowhere. With how big he was looking, I knew I didn't want to fight him in such a tight space. Booked it back to the archer's tower and started climbing when I thought, "Well...shit, if he jumped off from one goddamn tower, what's to stop him from jumping up this one?" Either way, he was charging me so there was no turning back. Soon as I was up top, looked down on him for a sec and thought maybe he wouldn't come up, but sure enough he did lol.

Come to think of it, the first boss actually knocks you down as well if you just hang out on the ledge. Can probably expect this sort of behavior from all bosses and high ground lol.

godamnit.. I opened the gate in Parish with the lever and apparently it doesnt do shit cause when you die the gate closes again.

Is it just me or does this game not display in 1080i or upscale to 1080p? Usually if I uncheck every option except 1080p it'll force it to display at that resolution... but not in this game. Playing in 720p on a big 1080p screen just doesn't look as good as it should.

No one played with resolution settings?

Also I can't download any of the CE edition bonus stuff.. think the server is overloaded

ive played for like 4 hours. i have accomplished nothing. i got blue tearstone ring, idk if thats good, lost all my souls when i got it

Daughter's back to school night put a halt to my playing quickly but I got to play for about an hour or two.

Chose bandit with the pendant (which I had in my inventory for all of about 15 minutes)... so far it is a blast. My 4 or so deaths have all been due to that damn graveyard and my bombing through for the items... none of which are better than my starting gear.

and fuuuck the spear guys. I can't seem to ever parry them, and cant push them back, and they block all my shit and have huge fuckin range. and the one that's the biggest pain in the ass, I can't roll behind cause his back's against a ledge

Hoping someone has a torrent or file on MU or something for it. Everyone seems to be having trouble finishing the downloads...At least for the soundtracks and videos. The map and mini guide should be okay since they're small. Are you having trouble with those too? If so, I can probably put them on dropbox or something when I get home later.

Yeah... fuck everything about them. Especially the one under the red dragon. He won't fall off for shit. Switch to 2hnd to break his block and he just hits me instead. Enemies are way smarter than in demon souls. I'm sure once we get far enough in enemies learn to parry your shit and that won't be fun.

Kick them off Spartan style lol
