Dark Souls: Prepare to Die (PS3/360/PC)

Not sure at all XD I think i'm like SL22 or so on my mage, but I could've been like SL30+ at this point if I wasn't blowing everything on spells Got 2x Soulray 2x Heavy Soulray and 1x each of the other 2 soulrays.. Great Soulray and Heavy Great Soulray? (shitty long names ).

Hoping they scale well with INT, cuz they did meh damage so far.

Is there a shortcut to get out of the bottom of BlightTown? Lol aslo I'm not 100% sure how it happened but somehow during my stay in Qulaags Domain i got some kinda larvae stuck to my head. Anyone know any way to remove?

Could always get Demon's Souls for $19 if you got a PS3. I can't see there being anyone that liked/loved Demon's Souls that wouldn't enjoy Dark Souls more.

I opened the gate to Blight at soul level 18. I didn't bother checking it out because I didn't want to lose my 35k souls. The black phantom I killed didn't drop any humanities/items. I have a second spider shield that I think I'm going to drop and let wreak some havoc on someone else...

I'm slightly lost. Rung the first bell, down into the depths, managed to get out of the depths, but there was no real... boss in there. Unless I missed it? Is it possible there's somewhere else i'm supposed to have gone, instead of going to the depths (sewers) after Capra Demon?

You definitely missed it. You have to fall down a few holes and hope for the best in that place... Also, I never found out what the frogs(?) did down there. I killed them before they could hit me with their moves. One hole I know for sure you need to fall down is at the first butcher. It's behind where he is normally standing behind boxes. You'll drop into a safe ledge above a giant rat. Easy to kill and just progress from there. However, once you go down that, you can't easily get back so be prepared.

So uh, not sure wtf, but I just spent a while trying to kill that bastard Black Knight at the top of that tower in Burg (after failing forever at Capra). Finally kill the Black Knight, walk to the top where he was and decide to take a shot at the Red Dragon. I hit it, it flies off (well kinda, it sorta just disappeared) and then about 15 seconds later I get 10k souls. WTF?

Has anyone found any lighter armor? I started as a deprived and the only thing mobs drop is heavy armor it seems and I like being a more agile char.

So I just got really fucking creeped out. Saved the guy in the parish, come back to firelink, go wander around in graveyard, get fucked up and die. Start walking back to go back to the blacksmith, accidentally make turn for the graveyard. Enter the area with the pool of water and all of a sudden get text and sounds that go "Hngggg... Hnnggg" but not like you think it would, sorta like rolling an R. Wouldn't stop till I hit X to exit the dialogue... what the fockkkk.

That's how you're supposed to kill it, tbh. That's the whole point of that tower. Some people (myself included) have been having issues with the dragon showing up while we're up there, so I had to unload arrows on it manually.

Creeped the fuck out of me. Anyone kill the thing by the blacksmith yet? It's pretty bad ass and I thought it would be easy then it said NOPENOPENOPE. 1 shotted by an unblockable~ish move.

I just did this. It flew off, but no souls for me @_@

Edit: Nvm, i ran down the stairs and 10k souls. Hmm, so is the dragon gone for good? >.> Is there a real way you're supposed to kill him? Was looking forward to the fight lol Unless, you just have to shoot it down with arrows like in Demons Souls, in which case I'm fine only spending 1

Anyone else playing using mainly Sorceries? Or any people using Pyromancer? Fire stuff comes in handy it seems, I just didn't bother getting any, but so far all I've got are 4 progressively stronger Soulray spells.

I'm doing pyromancer. Fireballs have been really useful against some of the minibosses and bosses. Wondering where I can get access to more pyromancies.

Once you ring the two bells, you find out what was making that noise. Also, if anyone is going to Blighttown, take some time to farm some of the moss that removes Toxicity, otherwise prepare to rage every time you get toxified, because you are pretty much going to die unless you are near a bonfire.

Whelp, after thinking I was able to out-smart the first boss by climbing a tower, just to curse the F-word out loud when I realized that was in vain and led to my death, I have to ask, what level were you guys roughly upon beating him?

I keep dying on the way back to that one section, so I'm considering grinding a bit to level Faith so I can wield that one sword I stole from the dragon on the cliff. These undead mobs take 4 hits to die, that's too many given how many swarm you in that town.


On a side note, I do not know how the hell From Software allowed the game to perform just as horribly as Demon's Souls did whenever fire particles are involved. This is 2011, single-digit framerate is laughable.

I killed the tarus demon by getting him to spawn then running quickly up ladder then jump doown and stab him from above does like 1/5 hp. Thenroll around and climb up,the ladder again and repeat til dead.

I figured this out eventually, not too bad once you realize you can climb up without getting knocked off the ladder too (just make sure you have a few healing drinks).

To those who shot the dragon and had it fly off: Where'd you get a bow to use? I'm really sadd that I haven't found one yet Only put in about 2hrs so far, really busy with classes/work, damn I love it already though.
