so I restarted as thief with pendant and I explored firelink and found that graveyard I never saw before , and fell down that ledge thats kinda dark near the priest, so much loot at the beginning.

What I suggest for you is, go down to New Londo Ruins. Bolt to get the Fire Keepers Soul there. Just run non stop. Get it and die, or get it and explore a bit more. There is some epic loot in that area.

No idea, tbh. I ran all the way to the Stone Dragon at the end of the path, where the Hydra can't get to. On my way back, before it was even on screen I heard its death cry and soon after got 10k souls and 2 dragon scales. Almost all of the water in that lake is actually just a huge bottomless pit with a water texture on it, so my guess is the game somehow forgot the Hydra was special and thought it "fell into" the lake.

It's in the Ghost part. Not in the Drake Valley there. From the start of the bridge, look to the right a bit, you'll see a glowing item there. That's the Soul.

Stupid Pivot Casting.
1. Get the Dragon Head stone from by aligning yourself with The Path of the Dragon at the bottom of Ash Lake. Use it on yourself so you have a dragon head.

By using (and holding the button down) this item while you have the head, you do a breath attack and as long as you hold the button down you'll keep doing it while you have stamina.

2. Acquire the Green Grass Shield near the bonfire in Darkroot Basin. It's beside the black night there. Equip it.

The reason for this is otherwise, the soul stacking only lasts as long as you have stamina. With the Stamina Regain on this, you can do it infinitely.

3. Set up use items like this

X/X/X/Dragon Head Stone/Soul Consumable

Execution:

1. Use your Dragon Head Stone to start up the breath attack animation.

2. Turn your character such that you are facing a different direction. This is VERY IMPORTANT.

3. Quickly tap down on the d-pad and hit square and hold it down.

The Result: Your character will begin his breath animation, flip around and the use of the soul consumable bugs out because you're stuck in the breath animation. This glitches the game into thinking you're continuously using your consumable. Hold the use button down until you're happy with the amount of souls you have.

Ash Lake is at the bottom of the Great Hollow, you get there from Blight Town.

To get back, take that Elevator that takes you to the Undead Church but jump off like 5 seconds in onto a ledge. Walk to a big open part and carefully jump onto a incline thingy, follow it up to the Crows nest, pretend to be an egg, and he'll carry you back. There are 2 Black Knights there and the Stray Demon. Also the Ruster Iron ring that lets you run on shitty terrain. IE, the Blight Town Hell, the tar shit in Sens Fortress, and so on.

Yeah. I killed him in like 30 seconds with Lightning Iaito+1. Bleeding effect every 3 hits.

Tomb of the Giants really sucks. Spent like 30min trying to get further than the first bonfire and another 30 just to get back out. If anyone is wondering where the Lady and her two bodyguards are that were next to the miracle dude in Firelink Shrine, they are down at the place where Patches kicks you down in Tomb of the Giants close to first bonfire. Her two guards turned hollow and you have to kill them. They didn't drop anything and the Lady only gave me the Replenishment miracle.

At the bottom of Blight Town in the swamp, you should see a large white tree root that you can run up. In there, there's a treasure chest. Smack the wall behind it to unlock a hidden passage.

All these dungeon areas housing the "main" demons are a pain in the dick. Invisible walkways, skeletons that don't die, reapers you can't attack, etc etc I should sleep

So is tha lava walking ring you get from the boss on the way to Izalith 100% drop? I ask because I got mine mid fight for chopping it's tail off and it gets removed when you beat the game, I'm worried I'll have to focus on the tail again in NG+.

Can some one help me out? An hour into this game and I'm getting my ass handed to me as a knight; I would really love some general all purpose tips for this game. I use my shield, etc, but my biggest thing is getting aoes by fire throwing undead, while trying to defense from the sword and pike weilding dudes in front of me. I can get past it, but one after another slowly chip me away till I'm out of estus, etc.

general tip: lure mobs to hallways, let them strike first and counter. the difficulty in demon's/dark souls is that you cant just plow through it

specific tip: the winged spear in the back of the graveyard will help a ton. from the first bonfire, go through the ruins directly behind that npc in the silver/blue tunic, and book it all the way to the back of the graveyard on the right hand side. the item will be in a corner of sorts, might take a few tries but the range on the spear will certainly help

also anyone notice how different weapon types and attacks give you different soul quantities? just out of curiosity, what would yield the most?

Go after them first if you can they don't have anyway to defend themselves. If you're talking about the barrage of them that throws firebombs at you near the bonfire, walk half way across bridge and then run back. Some of the undead will cross the bridge to fight you. It will make it easier to attack fewer of them at a time and not worry about others throwing firebombs at you while you're engaging others.

In this game, dying is truly a game mechanic-- I learned to do that from dying/running out of flasks. You might even find a better way to handle them.

Oh. And Kindle that Bonfire ASAP. (Kindle upgrades your flask to 10 uses; To kindle, use one humanity to Reverse Hallowing, and then use another to Kindle the flame)
