Dark Souls: Prepare to Die (PS3/360/PC)

1) First Blacksmith is near the Undead Parish. A long path leading away from the 'back door' of that place leads to a staircase. He is at the bottom. You will him banging on his anvil all day and night. My wife makes me mute the TV when I am hanging out there... she goes insane with his tapping.

There's actually an easier smith to get to, he's in a cell at the start of the New Lando ruins (the ghost place). You don't need a key or anything, just walk up to him and talk. I don't believe he can do the different upgrade paths though, just the standard one.
edit: Just double checked and the only upgrade paths he has are the standard and the magic path.

Yeah, those are the demons I meant, there's only 1 in the game that respawns, can find it in Lost Izalith. (It's slightly tougher than the others and you fight it on a slightly narrow bridge).

Also, if you invade Lautrec, you get a Souvenir after killing him, other than those 2 methods (And a random drop from the Forest Covenant), you have to farm them from the Harpy/Crow Demons.

Lost Izalith, it's the only place where you can find a respawning Prowling/Titanite Demon.

Still can't find the Slumbering Dragoncrest ring in Sen's Fortress. Anyone know specific location/directions? >_<

Finally beat it. Last boss is... jesus christ, that was an experience. Looking forward to NG+, I spent a good chunk of my first playthrough levelling endurance, strength and dex so now I'm building up int and faith so I can use the True Greatsword of Artorias.

Best thing about the last boss was the music. Such an amazing and fun fight.

Yeah, definitely The first time I walked into the boss I just kinda stared while I got destroyed. I've rarely had a fight where you need 100% solid execution to win. Needless to say, when I won my friends and I broke into cheers. It was amazing.

With diminishing returns on a lot of stats... is that what most people plan on doing? Even out stats and fill in holes? I doubt my Attunement goes higher than 12 on this playthrough, but would love to have some Faith or Sorcery in the next run through. At this rate though it is going to be likely that I am at LEAST 80ish when I finish my first run through...

FYI, for anyone that doesn't want to worry about the Forest Covenant on playthrough one, don't forget to join and then off the Ninja Bodyguard for that ring before NG+ Then that is out of the way.

So yeah, if anyone else is playing mage, make sure you don't use miracles or pyromancy with the crystal catalyst equipped (i.e. catalyst in one hand, talisman/flame in other hand). You won't get any power bonus from it, but the catalyst will still eat your casts twice as fast

What are their weakness?

I'm not exactly sure if they have any weaknesses, but an easy way to kill them with melee is to get a Spear and a good shield and just slowly whittle away at their HP, or you can use Iron Flesh and go all out and try to kill them as quickly as possible.

Yeah I should have tried spear. I was trying to stay on their off/no hand side and it was not working. Their swipes would kill my stamina and if it hit unblocked I was pretty much dead. Add to that that they were in the muck at the bottom of Sen's... so you have to at least waste one ring slot on the ring that lets you move through it. BAH I say.

The one thing I did NOT try before cheesing them with giant arrows in their feet was lunging from the area above. I think that they are basically underneath the area where the cages are with Big Hat. Or maybe on the path just before that room. Either way, I had meant to give that a shot but forgot.

Killed 1 then 2 spawned right on top of me. killed those 2 and got nothing ; ;

Is there a bonfire in Painted world?

Yes, there is one, right at the start.

If you don't save at that bonfire and you die, do you actually get booted back to your bonfire in the 'real world'? I know that there is no way out other than the boss once you are in. No Warps, etc.
