I know exactly how to use it, still doesnt change the fact that 99% of the population does not. Would be great if they just copied search system and lfg flag from XI.
Did XI have the same party search system when it first launched? Since SE seems to be mirroring how they handled XI's timeline of "content", the question bears asking.
hmmm I started playing XI week after it came out in US and maybe aside of some minor tweaks I remember it same way.
I don't mean US, I mean the ORIGINAL launch. Thus far, the main difference between XI and XIV seems only to be the fact that this was a worldwide launch from the get-go. I'm wondering if the same party system was in at the original JP launch. I figure someone around here will know.
True and when you look at the combat jobs, we pretty much got same number as before Zilart. I dont think there is any hope for additional jobs soon....
Doesn't the current system automatically group you with someone if you both meet the same criteria? If so that's enough of a reason to change the system.
I don't think anyone ever really "wanted" to grind coblyns to cap, it was just sadly about the fastest way to reach cap.
I'm a little worried about the combat text. I sure hope there is a way to make it where you only see the damage you are doing. Can you imagine 15 people whacking on the same mob and all the "3d" text flying all over the screen.
*still no SP chains*
Don't mind me I'll just continue...
Spoiler: show
So anyone on Saronia wanna exp around 40 after the patch tomorrow? Just to test it out.
You left me, bra, or I'd party with ya, haha. Do some level 20 job and I'll join.
Should have party search both ways so that leaders can look for prospectives and prospectives can search for parties.
My hope is that, as said above, there is room for variation without being too big a drag on the PT. FFXI needed some fairly exacting setups. I don't care if the optimum party size in FFXIV is 8 (or whatever) just so long as it is still worthwhile to get by with 6, or 10, as needed. *THAT* is what will make this "casual friendly" in my mind ... where it won't matter if someone joins or leaves without disrupting the remaining PT members. I never got the chance to do the huge eft parties before the changes to what we have now, but what attracted me the most to that style was how people could come and go, and the SP would continue to flow.
To be fair, if the party system was so good, people would know about it by default. You can't always assume ignorance is at fault for something not being utilized. I don't remember anyone not knowing about Dungeon Finder in WoW, for instance.
I'm not saying XIV's system sucks. I've never used it, personally, but I just don't think that if something were so good, people wouldn't know about it.
The party system in XIV actually is pretty good. However, it wouldn't hurt to have an option for people to "flag up" so to speak and specify what kind of party they are looking for, so that party leaders can search through a list of prospective party members. As it stands now, a lot of the leg work of finding a party falls upon the person who wants to join a party rather than the person starting the party. Having both methods would be ideal tho.
I dont see why you guys complain about seeking or making a pty. I found it rather relaxing (back when partying was used).
Wife and best friend hop on and I put out a a search for 5 more people. We are just chilling while beating on mobs and anyone fitting our prerequisites just pop in at random.
It is great without any extra effort I could keep a party of 5-10 people rotating through crabs.
Now that nothing requires grouping I haven't messed with the system.
Now all you guys who want the party leader to /sea all job lvl range every 30 seconds can go fuck yourself in the ass with a fucking cactus.... twice
This !
And give us the /tell "pling" back instead of a Behest clock -.- I still wonder why SE didn´t transfer the level sync system to XIV I find it very good and it would make pt with your friends way easyer imo.
And is it just me that find the LS kicking system very stupid ? The person you want to kick have to be online AND in the same zone <.< Atm you have no chance to clean up your LS from ppl that quitted already the game e.g. or did I miss something?
