The Wolverine (July 26th, 2013)

It wasn't bad, was entertaining. I'm not a huge X-Men fan so I can't say much to that effect. Teaser was pretty cool.

Really enjoyed the movie, had two people walk out didn't like the film complaining about reading subtitles and too much japanese in middle of the movie. Will probably go see it again tonight was a fun movie. The teaser was amazing so as usual if you didn't already know STAY for the credits.

Movie was okay, but was definitely a downward trend. Started out strong, then slowed down in the middle, then at the end they reveal that most of the middle of the movie was pointless. Despite that, still had it's good moments.

Really, really liked it. Enjoyed the focus on Logan and not on the action scenes, which might put other people off. There are basically only two, although quiet long. Until a bit after middle, I'd give it a 8/10, close to 9. It lost a bit towards the end and that was cheesy and predictable. Overall, 7/10 and still dreaming of what Aronofsky could've made from this material. Still, Mangold delivered, especially the first 60% ish of the movie. Way better than first Wolverine and stay for the credits. One of the best yet.

I liked it, but I haven't followed the comics or cartoons, so, yeah. I kept expecting logan to speak japanese or show any sort of skill with any weapon other than his claws. maybe stop running headlong into gunfire for a little bit. Alas.

I also liked some of the implications for the next one: the ad for the Sentinel company, the cooperation with magneto (i suspect magneto re-adamantizes logan's claws), prof X's mysterious reincarnation. I figure he transferred his psyche into some random dude and so now everyone just sees him as prof X, even though his body is still the random guy. Sucks for the random guy, tbh.

Edit: The general rule for this subforum has been that if you're not current you shouldn't be in the thread, so i didn't think it was necessary. especially since its all from the after-credits scene. but whatevs.

Worth 12bucks as a date movie? Seems so. But either this or the conjuring hmmmmn

Whoever did the marketing for this movie should be fired from all jobs forever. The commercials and the movie were two separate things. Very pleasantly surprised by the film.

If you expect this to be a direct adaptation of the comic, you will not like it.
It is a reinterpretation of Wolverine going to Japan to find his purpose, but set in modern day and tied to the X-Men movie universe. There is a lot of story that gets broken up by some cool action scenes. I thoroughly appreciated Hugh Jackman's performance in this movie. He did a fantastic job showing a wide array of emotions. Also, Yukio is awesome.

I liked it. It was a lot better than I thought it would be. After credits scene was worth the price of the movie alone.

I didn't like that they changed the identity of the Silver Samurai though. I don't know why they feel like they have to do that. Seems to be a trend in Marvel movies.

ninjas were retarded, doing retarded ninja shit, gratuitous jumping and tumbling. seriously, you took the effort to make mutants at least semi-believable, take the effort to update your ninjas the same way. wouldn't have been hard.

At least they were super quiet when they did it!

Also really enjoyed it - I don't have any gripes about flow. It seemed to ebb pretty well with some good action to some quieter moments to fill in the plot. I think I would have liked to see more mutant...however in hindsight I'm glad that wasn't the case (see Origins)
