I've never had health insurance through an employer, was looking for an honest answer. You could also just put money in a piggy bank as your rape fund. Are abortions even that expensive? The one who harmed you. Of course, that person is usually unable to be held accountable (hard to squeeze blood from a stone). So nobody. Most of the time.

Honestly, this sort of thing is what insurance is *meant* to be used for: pay a few bucks over the long term to a company, and in return they will cover deviations from the normal cost/year. It allows you to normalize the general cost of living over a very long term even though year-to-year the cost will vary significantly.
