Prior to Obamacare there could be no federal funding for abortion. GOP fears that under the new health care bill, there would be federal funding for abortions. Obama issued an executive order that did not explicitly prevent that. GOP now passes a bill that explicitly prevents that.
I don't see what is changed. I'm just guessing at the purpose. If it isn't that then maybe it's just them fucking around trying to plz the base b/c they don't want to cut the budget. I don't know, but regardless it seems the same to me.
In other words, I cannot think of scenario where someone is raped, and they don't get govt. aid.
Why use the word "forcible" then? Why not just use the word rape? We know what rape is, whether or not it's "forcible" can be a matter of semantics.
I think it's a way for the GOP to reduce abortions by trying to cut off funding for them. Find something backing up the idea that nothing changes with this bill, since there's plenty of articles that beg to differ.
Oh lolop.
except that's not true. from wiki about the hyde amendment.
"The original measure made no exceptions for cases of pregnancies that were the result of rape or incest or that threatened the lives of pregnant woman, provoking an outcry from women's rights advocates. As a result, beginning in 1977 language was added to provide for such circumstances; however, the exact wording has varied from one year to the next, subject to the outcome of Congressional bargaining on the issue."
Not you. I don't think.
e/ whoops never refreshed.
There is no sane way for me to be coherent in discussing this shit. It is balls to the wall batshit. I love the birthing cattle implications.
I think this might be why. There is such thing as fraud in the inducement and fraud in the factum.
Fraud in the inducement is not rape, "I'm Brad Pitt." -> sex with girl.
Fraud in the factum is rape. I never saw a hypo, but basically the girl doesn't think she will have sex, but ends up having sex anyhow. I don't know how that happens without force, but apparently it can.
Maybe the evil GOP wanted to single out bitches to dumb to know what was going to happen. Only they aren't allowed govt. aid. Continue the bashing of the evil GOP.
Edit for Chi: so this made things better then?
My face.
I had to slap myself 5 times, just so I would not get more stupid reading that trash.
Wtf are you bitching about then.
Incest w/ minor -> govt. aid.
Rape -> govt. aid.
Danger to mother -> govt. aid.
And apparently this currently isn't the case. Or are you just bitching about abortion funding in general?
The stipulations they have put on rape, ergo/by proxy redefining what classifies as rape you dumb shit.
Anyone have the text of the bill as proposed? Rather than speculate as to the intention of the 'forcible' language I'm hoping the bill actually defines it. If it doesn't, it's a stupid pointless wedge issue bill that will get struck down for being too vague and should never have been voted on, lolGOPHouse and everything.
So guess Swamp is gonna become a criminal defense attorney specializing in getting rape charges dropped?
This is like arguing with sarah palin or Michele Bachmann.
