Honestly, i really don't get the issue here. Who the fuck cares if people get can a free abortion courtesy of the state? Honestly, i find it silly that if a woman can't afford an abortion, that the state doesn't cover it, regardless of how she conceived, and that insurance companies can't cover it to be absolute bullshit.

Actually how does it work now? Can anyone just walk into a clinic, say they were raped, and get a free abortion, no questions asked?

The only thing that I can imagine being worse than being raped is having your rapist's baby, something else that some Republicans are in favor for, but that's another debate for another time.

People are always going to cheat the system. Rape is the most horrible thing a woman can go through and it's disgusting that people scream it in situations that it's not, because in hindsight they made a mistake and don't want to take responsibility for it. It's something that's unavoidable though. You can't punish the women who legitimately go through this.

You'd imagine some reasonable doubt would be all it would take to get someone what they deserve. But yeah, I do agree that it is better to have a few people cheating the system than to potentially screw a single innocent person over. However, we all know the GOP's highest priority is to create some impossibly perfect system that no one can take advantage of... all for how much taxpayer money potentially "saved?"

If only common sense applied.

It doesn't. But it gets play on cable news as republicans trying to cutting the spending. Nothing either party does, short of reforming Social Security/Medicare, cutting defense spending and raising taxes will do anything significant.
