Final Fantasy XI and Port Forwarding

To keep it nice and simple, I installed a new router today since the old one wasn't working that well. I decided to go with a dlink N150 (Model number DIR-601).

I went to play FF XI and got disconnected after roughly 15 seconds. Unsure what the problem was, I tried playing WoW, and was able to play for 5 minutes without any issues. Tinkering around, I realized the ports weren't being forwarded, so I input the correct ports, and set the IP to my computer's IP address, but I'm still getting disconnected after roughly 15 seconds.

Is there anyone that has this specific model, or is familiar with dlink routers that may know something I'm overlooking? Every other game I have and application I have runs fine. (I have yet to try FF XIV because it's under maintenance, but I plan to in roughly an hour if I can't get this fixed.)

I have that router and there is actually a setting for ffxi already in the routers homepage. after you log in click the advanced tab and then the port forwarding tab on the left. you can select ffxi from the second column. there are lots of different applications you can forward automatically like utorrent, steam, etc.

That's exactly what I did, unfortunately, I'm still getting Disconnected. If that works for you, and that's the only setting you changed, than perhaps there is something else wrong. The only other thing I could think of is that security Encryption key thing. I enabled it on my old computer, but when I switched computers I forgot to transfer the file over. Yet, FF XI still worked and I did not get D/Ced. Is there any way to disable that to test and see if that is the issue?

I havent played in over a year but from what i remember without the rsa key you shouldnt be able to even log on.

After fooling around with the settings on my router, I found the problem. In case someone searches up this thread with a similar problem, here's what you do:

Go to Firewall Settings under the Advanced tab
Under the heading NAT Endpoint filtering, there is an option "TCP Endpoint Filtering"
Make sure this is set to "Address Restricted" not "Port and Address Restricted"

Not sure if that is the default setting as my sister set up the router, but that's the only option I needed to change once enabling the correct ports in order to get Final Fantasy XI to play.
