i sincerely hope you are not advocating slacking on being tested just because you don't feel like you've done anything stupid

I'm trying to figure out how serious you are, and it's not going too well.
I'm not going to account to you for my sexual habbits, that's absurd on all new levels. I am also not advocating anything. You should read the lines and not between them.
What's with the sudden prudency though?
lol, are you calling me a prude? you should likewise stop reading between the lines. i have not suggested people shouldn't have sex with multiple partners -- simply that people should be tested for STDs between sexual partners. it only takes about 2-3 weeks max for most STDs to develop symptoms. if someone is sleeping with so many people that they can't possibly get tested between all their partners, that honestly sounds like someone who needs to evaluate why they are engaging in such high risk behavior. even if you're tested regularly, HIV/AIDS can take up to 6 months to be detected, which means that someone who has gotten infected could be giving the gift that keeps giving for 6 whole months before they have any idea. if you're promiscuous, think about how many lives you can reach out and touch in that time. having grown up in a city with a decently high rate of HIV/AIDS infections and currently living outside the city with the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in the entire country (DC), i think that may have been stressed to me more than it is to some others.
here's the deal as it relates to what we're talking about: a lot of people in committed relationships over here don't use condoms. birth control is usually left to the female, who takes the pill or has an IUD or whathaveyou. so for their partner to go have sex with someone else and then come home and have unprotected sex with them is infinitely more risky than a situation where all parties use condoms all the time. frankly, that's frightening to me. shit can happen no matter how careful you think you are. you are not invulnerable just because you use condoms, lol.
Rofl Ivve has AIDS no wonder you're such a bitch your life was over before it even began
yeah i have aids
let's fuck
i'm just saying thinking that you don't need to be tested because you feel you were "careful" is incredibly naive. it's lucky that nothing (you're aware of) has happened to you, but not everyone is so lucky. it's something people should be more aware of.
"The risk of HIV transmission during anal intercourse may be around 18 times greater than during vaginal intercourse"
Russian roulette, I'm ready to test my luck with my life on the line, let's do it
I think we just come from really different backgrounds. My first two bfs were both virgins.
STDs do not care what your backgrounds are.
Was more of a reflection over Ivve's reasoning than anything really.
yeah. i've lived in areas that have very high rates of infection. something like 75%+ of sexually active americans have had or currently have some form of HPV. there were 12 confirmed cases of herpes in my graduating class in high school. luckily none of the girls of that group overlapped with the pregnant ones. DC (which is where i would go to party, lol) is experiencing AIDS on an epidemic level. about a month ago, i got hit on by a man who came out and told me he had genital warts. STDs have been really prevalent everywhere i've been, so being told that someone you're having unprotected sex with (because you're both supposedly monogamous) is banging other people out on the side, is a heart stopper for a totally different variety of reasons.
i actually thought there were a lot less herpes cases in my class until it came up recently in a conversation with a friend of mine, lol. some people came up positive with it after graduation, so that news didn't go around.
Aye, I see your point.
the area where you live might have a greater effect for sure, though. other places in the world do a lot more preventive care and screening, so it's less of an issue some places. for example, they don't test men for HPV in america. from what i understand, some other countries do and it's even covered under insurance in some places. here they would rather sell us the vaccine or let us gamble with dicks.
all hail gardasil
I can't even come up with one person I know that has a STD.
well really, would they share that? there's a lot of shame and embarrassment surrounding it, in part because the perception is that smart people who are careful don't get STDs. if you get one, you must be a dirty slut.
also i am waiting for the day when we all get informed gardasil gives you crohn's disease and people have to have their colons removed and stuff. hi2u accutane.
Actually my ex in Berlin's friend's ex had clamydia or something and he was freaking out about it. But that's realy the only one I can think of.
You share it if it's someone else having it though. Human nature and such.
