Give Dreadage a break. He was playing 24/7 and now when servers are down he catching up with stuff he wanted to do. He just haven't noticed that 2 years passed between this post that make him angry (in which someone brag about botting) and his respond now.
Ok so Thx for asking this question because it pushed me to making my calc for WSes (I will probably make a 2nd part for melee too). I can tell you now that for Vsmite Loki's is only better if impetus is down or if you are capped on cRatio before attack from af3+2.Originally Posted by Koyangi

RDM would have a tough time keeping up with healing. Bring a WHM instead. Use ele wheel nukes when you have to turn to avoid gazes for continued damage.
Small tip: curse gaze overwrites the partial petrify timer effect. If you've got partial petrify counting down, and he pops out blue eyes, you can use it to prevent the increasing slow effect that partial petrify has.
Waking the Beast.
Anyone do this since 90? I really want to get the mitts for my SMN but finding 18 people is a pain, let alone wiki says they need the items to enter as well. I think a 6 man group could easily do it if you have 3 tanks for when he summons the last 3 avatars and when he splits up. Prolly could 1-2 shot a few carbys with emp WS's but I am overall worried about how much damage will be taken and don't want a tank to get 1shot.
Anyone know?
Another thing...
Taken from wiki^ about cast timer for elementals spirits.Casting Time (secs) = 48 + (max Summoning Skill - current Summoning Skill) / 3 (all levels)
Correct me if I'm wrong but with 354 being the cap and +97 skill being the most possible that would make it...
48 + (354 - 451) / 3
48 + (-97)/3
48 + (-32.333)
~16 seconds
Using AF2 legs over +6 skill legs you get +2 seconds but -5 from the buff so 13 seconds.
It's late and I am trying to do math. Is this right?
Also when calculating the time before the next action for a spirit is the cooldown based on SMN skill at the time of the previous cast? Example: Spirit casts Cure V, then starts a CD timer that if I remove SMN skill gear will still be 13 seconds counting down until next action and if the next action isn't in full skill gear it makes a 30+ second CD or is it that it will only cast something X seconds later based on gear?
In other words how long would I need to stay in skill gear to get the 13 second recast so I can switch back to -prep/refresh gear to make the elemtnal free or is it possible(at all)?
I am trying to see if using a light spirit is a viable way of healing in conjunction with supplemental healing from SMN itself and getting this low of a delay it may be possible to be a good support healer that is better then cure IV spam.
What would be best trio to kill JoL?
1char: BRD RDM WHM
2char: RDM BLM WHM WAR(Uko) SAM(Mas)
3Char: MNK(Vere) NIN (Kannagi) BLU(Almace) BLM RDM THF PLD(Almace and soon Ochain)
I know we could do it when I got Ochain easily probably with RDM BRD(for speed) PLD. But idk about other combos I think of:
1. WHM, RDM, MNK - It looks like to risky to have 45def (counterstance) while dealing with 3 adds and possible primal drill, but maybe I overestimate them?
2. NIN, RDM, BRD - This should be best compromise between fast and safe imo.
3. THF, RDM or WHM, BRD - TH (but do I really need it for rings? Wiki shows about 50% drop for them) and better evasion but no Empy less attack less shadows. I doubt it could reach 2h and despawn but it would probably be a long fight
4. Which mage option could be best? RDM RDM BLM? RDM BLM BLM? Would it be faster then previous ones?
5. Do I underestimate its accuracy. I assume I could tank it and hold 2 adds at once on nin and thf but maybe I'm wrong and I would need to kill 3 adds every time they pop then switch back to JoL?
6. I could also equip my RNG I guess and go RNG/war BRD/whm BLM/rdm(?)
Kukulkan can be funny that way. I thought so too, that my THF with debuffs could go lazy-mode ichi-to-ichi, only to find myself near-dead more than once when an poison landed and then blue eyes curse made it not only uncurable (poisona has no effect) but made it 200/tick. Zombie status itself doesn't last too long, but a triggered poison lasts longer than Zombie, and RDM can't keep up with it.
Do you feel lucky? If not, bring a WHM instead of a RDM.
On the other hand, if an accident happens and you die, any job can kite it around the rock near its pop spot until tank is unweakened, so it's not like you'll lose your pop set.
In response to the "Rarest item discussion", Mythic Weapons on FFXIAH have 9 weapons with only 1 person owning. So it would be an item that nobody has but exists in game that would be the rarest. Laurel Crown has 2 people owning it.
One of the first AV kills involved a Terpsichore Dancer, I think.
JoL drops earrings not rings. i'd assume having 2 adds on you wont be as easy as you think with astral flow causing them to all tp at once and JoL casting -ga spells fairly often to take down your shadows. the -ga aren't often enough to prevent ni > ni but you'll have 3 mobs hitting you as well.
from my little xp using a light spirit its really not bad. it can not be your main healer (AI isn't that fast) but it can handle a pt in the alliance (and using your sj to cover where the AI fails). the biggest issue in the past with mp, but with atma and the huge increase in skill it shouldn't be a problem inside and outside abyssea.
Between Gandiva and Farsha, which weapon might be worth having? I sorted ended up with like half the items on Fistule/Bhukis path, I'm not sure which weapon to do. Farsha seems kinda mediocre as Cloudsplitter sucks outside of brewing, but to be honest, but I don't really see myself playing Ranger too often, so I dunno.
Rng will be a good dd again once abyssea is over. bst will not. And with Jishnus rng is a very good dd in abyssea, just of course the whole haste/march thing over shadows it. Either way, both weapons are easy to get compared to others. so make both!
Farsha is still a good DPS main-hand axe, WAR's best option. I'd go with that if you aren't going to play RNG.
