lol maybe you dont play this game often? When both players are capped on hate the mob attacks whoever swings last. Ninja is hitting the mob more often thus having hate more frequently. Mnk isnt countering as much as it would if it was solo DD. Next time your fighting something put your dd on either side of the mob and watch it spin like a top everytime someone has an attack round.
Ninja vs Mnk. Ninja will win. Your spreadsheet is less accurate then a parser. Prove me wrong? oh you cant. and I cant prove that my parse is any better. Its all hypothetical math anyways. But everyone who actually does events with Kannagi + Vereth probably notices the Nin outparses the mnk even with counters.
So wait, what 3 atmas should a vere monk use?
Apoc RR and GH
for the several people 'discussing' war mnk nin emp. what exactly are you fighting that lets you put more than 2 of these jobs on it long enough to pump out a couple ws and really see these jobs compaired? everything i fight dies fast enough with just nin on it for DD (and proc) with a couple other people doing proc's; by the time we get the proc's we want, the mob is at 10-20%.
So, I know it's not completely accurate, but you know people say 4 STR = 1 fSTR and 1 fSTR = 1 base DMG? Anyone know how much Attack = 1 base DMG?
Bukhis, Rani, Raja, Orthus, Dragua, Igsebind, Adzaja, etc. are really the only mobs left that have significant hp values. I agree with you that it's a mostly irrelevant conversation for the large majority of the game. None of this runs contrary to the point that tribe is retarded though.
You really can't even make a general comparison, here.
Melee DMG = (WeaponDMG + fSTR) * pDIF, pDIF = <some function of cRatio>, cRatio = Your Att/Enemy Def
Read http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/PDIF
You can compare "Hey should I do 4str or 20 attack"... but it'll change a lot depending on your target.
Case1: D100 Weapon, fSTR cap is 19. Assume you have 18 fSTR without whatever slot is being compared, so you go from just uncapped to capped. Enemy def is 300, your attack is 450 w/out slot_X, so cRatio is 1.5. 2handed weapon, fmin = 1 and fmax = 1.88, average 1.44.
Add the str: Damage average increases from (100+18)*1.44=(169.9) to (100+19)*1.44=(171.4)
If you wanted to equal +4STR in attack, you'd need to increase average pdif from 1.44 to 1.45, which is pretty small, ends up being ~5 attack (didn't account for the attack gained from str, this is just an example)
Case2: D10 weapon, fSTR cap is 9, but now you have 200 attack to 300 defense on the target. 1handed weapon, this time.
cratio is 0.66, fmin is .49, fmax is 1, .75 average.
DMG = (10+8)*.75 = 13.5, or (10+9)*0.75=14.3 w/ 4str. Have to raise average to .79 this time, you'd need to raise attack closer to 60 points.
tl;dr - you can't say 1DMG = XAttack without knowing a lot more about the case, but 4str = 1fSTR and 1fSTR = 1DMG will hold until you hit fSTR caps.
Isn't there a quest for a warp between jeuno and home nation? Been trying to find it, no luck.
T1 SCH merits (besides Helix)?
sTP needed for a 5-hit and 6-hit with a 504 delay G.axe?
Need some opinions on my tank set for MNK.
This is not a full time or TP set but a swap to when a TP move is going to land or I can't get shadows up ect.

Assume the following...
Shell V is on(24.2% reduction)
Dark Rings are both -6%pdt and -6%mdt
So for magic defense in this set we have...
-24.2% Shell V
-12% Dark Ring x2
-4% Merman's Earring x2
-2% Colossus Mantle
-5% Twilight Torque
-------------------
Total: -47.2% Magic Damage Taken
For Physical Defense we have...
-9% Arhat's Body
-6% Arhat's Helm
-12% Dark Ring x2
-5% Twilight Torque
-5% Black Belt
-2% Darksteel Leggings +1
-2% Darksteel Mittens +1
-3% Darksteel Subligar +1
-------------------
Total: -44% Physical Damage Taken
Now aside from maybe a shadow ring/mantle/Dring I don't see the set getting any better. Thoughts?
Can get some Denali Mitts to cover both PDT and MDT on the hand slot. (2%)
As well as a Lieutenant's Sash for 2% MDT on waist (if you needed it).
PDT you can get earring from Alexander for 1%, as well as I think 2% on augmented earrings from a quest in Aby-Vunk.
Good call, I overlooked that.
Brings the MDT up to 49.2%.
The problem is that I want 1 set to do double duty and I lose a LOT of PDT for a small trade off. With Shell V I am gaining .8% MDT(caps at 50%) but losing 9% PDT which isn't worth it.
