Check the FAQ page, make sure you've got the requirements installed (directx/.NET framework).

Which version depends on what version of windows you're using I think.

Few queries about dragua which i never fought before patch but decided to kill a few yesterday.

Was tanking on tail to try and prevent wings but it would just use its normal tp moves and never flail(it wasn't turning and it was attacking with tail). After dying on the second one due to petrify on both chars, I sac'd with whm for 5mins for weakness and when I repulled it began turning to face me constantly forcing me to eat full damage breaths.

Is this working as intended or should it be able to flail?

My girlfriend and I are thinking of picking the game up to play casually since the exp increase. Are there any servers out that there is a decent concentration of NA players?

Another question, I haven't played since ToAU was wrapping up how is the endgame now with these new Abyssea expansion packs? Is crafting still a very time consuming thing or did they dumb it down like the exp/skill patch this month? Thanks in advance!

On FFxievo they said the creator is waiting to fix until they know for sure SE isnt going to do a emergency maint. So might be a little while.

Having the hardest time with ffxi right now. I just installed windows 7, and dl ffxi through steam. I am able to log in and everything fine. I can even play the game up until I perform an action like a spell, or engage a mob. As so as I do this I get booted. I am not sure whats up, as I have tried it in both windowed/non windowed, using windower, using regular POL, all of it. Seems using windower is the best way as it dc's me the least, but still does after 1-3 spells normally.

Anyone have a clue whats going on? I turned off user control, firewall and all of it. Nothing seems to stop it.

I don't know whether it is "intended" or not, but Dragua has never been able to flail to my knowledge. Pre-drop-fix, we did enough Draguas to finish a set of 75 (so well over 100) and we've never seen it flail despite trying to force it to.

The constant about face thing happens with a lot of dragons on rare occasions. It's not normal behavior, and it's not common, and it's not restricted to Dragua. I've had run ins with it on Yilbegan in addition to Dragua. I have no idea what causes it, or how to fix it, maybe someone else does, but it only seems to happen like once out of 20 fights.

yes, but i also turned them off. Same thing happens with or without windower running. I have opened it without windower for example, just through steam. and have turned off spellcast etc.

It seems that I can be fine soloing mobs and casting spells, but as soon as I am in a party, or even just accepting an invite seems to dc me immediately.

My windower was buggy when I got it working after installing with steam. I had to stop using certain features in my windower macros that would crash it. I dunno.

In regards to the megalobugard question on last page. Do this. Level 1 ranger scan is fine for the area

Use widescan. He can be solo'd on anything 90/rng, and with widescan, it's easy to tell which is PH from reading wiki.

I renamed mine to try and do it that way. It didn't work. Trust me the way on wiki is the best way to do it. Using it that way worked perfectly. Renaming them doesn't work because it's not always the same PH. When i renamed them i named them in sequence. And it wasn't always the same one popping. it was 1 of 5 mobs.. and sometimes more than one of these "phs" would be up at the same time. but they're not both the PH.

In and out of Abyssea will have af3 neck, incanter's stone, capped cure cast merits, and Loq Earring, and (atm +1) af3 pantaloons. As opposed to outside of Abyssea I set MM and Ambition and 3rd just depends if I need to help proc (VV) or w/e for a 3rd. Am I overcapped in Abyssea atm? Can Loq be dropped completely? Once I do obtain whm af3 earring, is 2nd best earring Magnetic in and out of Abyssea? (didnt include Roundel because there just arent any around, BCNM hasnt been available for god knows how long and imo not worth it's price tag) Thanks.

Pretty sure it's best in slot for Chant du Cygne, your server has taken Castle O if a few pages back is any indication. It drops from the same BCNM as roundel earring.

The gear and merits put you at -37% cast time for cures, I haven't seen any consistent numbers on fast cast values for atmas at min/maj/sup but that's easy enough to test.

Get ambition, get naked, cast RR, keep RR selected in the magic menu and note your recast (don't rely on recast plugin).

If recast is 58, ambition is 5% fast cast (-2.5% recast)
If 57, 10% (-5% recast)
If 55, 15% (-7.5% recast)

If I had to bet on it I'd say minor is 5%, and would likely follow the above pattern for major and superior.

For earring choices I'd say Novia is the better option, barring that Magnetic is probably next best.

Thanks for the info. If there is no way to force it to flail is there any way location in the zone that provides adequate z axis to avoid terra wing since I plan to duo, and even with horned beat + barpetra I still have a good chance of getting petrified atleast once during the fight.

Leveling WHM for subjob, but haven't played since SCH was introduced. Is WHM/SCH ever more useful/better than WHM/BLM for leveling pre-50?

Working on a friends Hverg, on Kukulkan at the moment. Best way to go about farming KI? Only 3 NM makes me think just red proc and go would be easiest, but Arimaspi is a douche from what I remember(been a while).

Cleave the best way to go?

Unless you are desperately low on stones its better to red NMs, Arimaspi is a joke at 90 to duo, bring a nin or war to proc red though.
