Best place to do Aquan killshots for Annihilator?

I did all mine in Vunkerl Inlet (S) - the real one, not abyssea. Did some RNG/SAM + BRD/WHM with octave club @80 and rest RNG90/DNC45. I stayed away from abyssea mainly because mobs would level up to the point where it was slower to kill in abyssea.

For farming good augmented items from gold chests (-PDT/-MDT Dark Rings, INT+ Diamond Rings, etc) what's the verdict on how much amber light you want? There's a lot of hearsay going around, from none to middle to full amber light but I wanted some more concrete data before I start burning dozens of stones in Konschtat Highlands.

You want full amber lights to get top augmented "Powerful Item" boxes, like Dodge said. Low/mid amber light is when you want "Items" from boxes like Empyrean feet and non-KI pop items like TK Hide and Sispyhus Fragment.

Quick, and possibly stupid, question regarding damage reduction:

Otherwiki states that damage reduction caps at 128/256. This is fairly easy to understand, but there are few things I want to clarify: First, I assume that said number includes all forms of reduction and not just DT- on gear, correct?

Making that assumption, it lists percentages and /256 values for Shell, but it only states how much defense Protect adds. Is there any way to represent that as /256 for determining PDT? Basically I want to know how you would take defense and factor it into PDT- gear decisions.

You don't, they're independent. DEF works against mob Attack in the pdif part of the equation and PDT as a final multiplier at the end - all independent of each other.

Yeah, Shell is straight MDT. You can draw a parallel with melee equations here too, where MAB/MDB is your melee Attack/Defence and PDT or MDT are just straight modifiers at the end.

Fair enough, but my current streak of 150+ top tier blue boxes and not a single TE is pissing me off. But hey, I have a lot of cruor now and the Manafont animation is fun at least.

While I won't claim anywhere near 150 top-tier blue boxes without a TE, in ~100 minutes in Misareaux last night with azure capped quickly after entering, I saw no TE boxes in that time... not one. It was annoying as shit, but random number generator has a tendency to do that from time to time.

Kill speed wasn't all that quick, only had a few people in zone fucking around, trying to get AF3 feet and random seal NMs, so I imagine if we were just killing as fast as possible we would have had better luck on TE boxes. So I'm out a whole ~3 stones out of my 240ish. lol

While we're not making stuff up (5/6)^150 = 0.00000000013%, assuming that all of the six possibilities for top tier chests are equal (not actually sure on that). But by your logic no one wins the lottery either, right?

Actually I've never had any good luck on TE's, and here's what I do
Zone in kill 7 vnm for pearl
Kill 7 emph mobs for azure
Gather a ton of mobs ( 15-20 ^_^ I know I know
AE them 2 times leave them @ 12-20% blast them with blmga for more azure
= 2 TEs in about 75 mins
And for my random question do frogs in la thien drop TEs? Rather do diff mobs have diff drop rates on blue box tier?

My question comes from me repeating my failed attempt at getting time cleaving on frogs and not getting but 1 TE in 40 min yet I moved to worm camp and getting 3 TEs almost back to back, worms aren't really good for cleaving since they're so far apart most of the time

People cleave a mob and get more gold than blue and automatically think that mob drops more gold zomg. then the next pull drops mostly blue, its the same drop rate.

I thought you guys were referring to type of blue, not the color of the box. I theory, I expect blue > red > gold for box rate. In practice, I can only say red > gold for box rate (Checked by not building either of them).
