Well there has been many "Return to Vana'Diel" campaigns where people who quit got their char back... but I'd say your best bet is to contact SE rep and pray.

SE never wipes inactive players, so you can always get your account back (as long as you weren't hacked). I'm not sure you even have to do a "Return to Vanadiel" thing; I think you can just reactivate the content IDs.

Playing with Windower, 1366x768 (Background Resolution 2x this) on a 1600x900 monitor. I load the game and the whole screen's brightness seems to be turned up while XI is running. I'm not referring to in-game bump mapping. I mean everything (Desktop, Taskbar, ect) gets lighter. Is this normal and is there a way to prevent this?

I don't know if Windower is a cause so I'm asking here. I don't have a forum account on their site anyways.

Check your init.txt file for the game_X settings. These do not just affect the game, they are global. I have mine commented out (use // in front of them) and just use my video card control panel to adjust brightness, gamma, etc. so that everything looks good in-game and on my two monitors.

Im gonna go with no. My group has managed to get 8-12 man wins for t-1, >10 for anything >t2. We tried odin with 12 and got really close. Id like to think it can be done.

We have been doing Odin with 10 now. T3 is the only thing somewhat difficult. Last Odin we used a tank pty of 2Mnk, 2Whm, Brd and Rdm. The other party was 2Rng, Thf and my Rdm/Nin for kiting adds. Was fastest Odin ever.

We did Odin with 12 at 75 2 years ago, so it's possible.

I bought it on their site instead of through the steam client, which meant it didn't prompt me to install it right away. After doing that, log into your steam client and click Final Fantasy XI > CD Keys.

I belive if you choose to download it directly through the steam client, you have to cancel your download as it starts, so you can access the CD Keys section.

Cool, thanks. I've never used steam at all; is the steam client something I have to download first or just create an account for it?

You can create an account on their site, buy the game through that, then download and install the Steam client to get your CD key. Make sure you don't start installing through Steam, as it will mess up your current install.

I think Odin would be tough, but perhaps possible with the use of a Ninja tank. I tried to Perfect Defense + Fell Cleave entire wings in Einherjar before stopping, and it actually worked pretty well. I imagine using something like that could drastically improve your chances of winning with a low amount of people.

What do they do though? Wiki says they give extra acc during counterstance. Others say a straight increase in counter %.

Does there exist a program that would let me use a macro on one account to activate a macro or action on another windowed account on the same system? Basically to control WHM mule without all the alt tabbing
