Really really easy if you wait for the wings to be down.
Easy if you have to do it while wings are up, just don't cast while he's casting or TPing.
Anyone know if wardrobe/LGM flag got fixed yet?
I see a lot of people doing WHM/BRD in Abyssea, which I assume is for procing threnody staggers. Is it possible to land threnodies as WHM/BRD? What gear/atma/stats would one need to do so? Thanks.
5% rule, gear doesn't help much, it's idiotic all around
have blm sub brd and they can es threnody(which doesn't resist unless mob is immune)
if you really need to have the whm do it, wait for a discern and spam it(though 5% rule means you're going to be looking at an average of 10 min so you better start before you know its threnody)
Better evasion piece for nin hand slot? Iga Tekko +2, Usu Gote, or Seiryu's?
honestly with macc gear and macc atmas and a little bit of luck its really not all that bad to proc /brd. (i've gone blu/brd and proc'd thren on shit like alfard without too much hassle).
lot of things are involved, if it's an ichi set then you're better off with usu gote(1.5% eva rate vs 2% counter.. if you're in a certain eva range the eva rate wins but it's very easy to go over eva cap on most things).. if you're meleeing in evasion you probably should just use your haste gloves and get evasion elsewhere(you don't need a ton to cap on 95% of everything)
i own both and carry the usu not the iga :s reality is that you're going to cap regardless if you're dropping all haste and counter does something past cap while additional evasion does not.. and if you aren't dropping all haste hands are a pretty poor tradeoff
Correct me if I'm wrong, but assuming you're at a point where you actually gain something from equipping eva gear, wouldn't the extra 1.5% eva beat out 2% counter the majority of the time? If you're absolutely floored (with eva on) or absolutely capped (before eva gear), the counter would win for sure. But, just looking at a few sample points (going to assume GH atma and +2 legs with innin, being generous and saying it's 20% base counter, and acc is 100% for simplicity), and purely from a defensive standpoint as nullification of damage.
20% eva is 36% nullification. +1.5% eva is 37.2% null, +2% counter is 37.6%. Counter wins.
30% eva is 44% nullification. +1.5% eva is 45.2% null, +2% counter is 45.4%. Counter wins.
40% eva is 52% nullification. +1.5% eva is 53.2% null, +2% counter is 53.2%. Tie.
50% eva is 60% nullficiation. +1.5% eva is 61.2% null, +2% counter is 61%. Eva wins.
So even giving everything I could in favor of counter, it still looses as long as evasion is >40%. Factor in accuracy and it drops even lower. Granted, this is PURELY defensive, and counter does add something to your offense which has to be gauged as well, so I guess Gote aren't such a bad choice there.
For a DRK/SAM using Torcleaver in abyssea,
Voracious Violet/Razed Ruins/Apocalypse or Griffon's Claw/Razed Ruins/Apocalypse?
Torcleaver doesn't have a STR mod, and fSTR is capped from cruor buffs and gear already, so was wondering if the +20% WS damage and 10 gsd skill would help more than the 37.5 attack, 2/tic regain, and 5% double attack.
Doing staff trials for BLM right now and I fucking hate the hell out of it. About to finish ice staff then moving on to thunder. Is it normal to want to kill something small and innocent while doing these? Or is the ice staff just that bad (reading the staff thread it was the second most bitched about).
I'm considering that I almost never nuke anything else, doing the other 'neccesary' ones (Wind, Earth, Fire) as ACC staves. Fire for Addle on RDM. lolWater staff - my Neptune's is just fine for that. Fuck Ice ACC, I'll take the hit and using a damage staff keep inventory +1.
For dark, whats better ACC or Damage? I'm guessing ACC, but I've never read how sleeps / drain / aspir are affected, and want to make sure before I spend a shit load of time on a staff thats useless.
All of the trials blow, and Dark Magic Accuracy definitely.
abyssea boss title NPC?
Any chance I can dual box whm + thf Ningishzida?
Why is thorny banned? Seems to have been quite informative lately excluding a little minor trolling.
