Someone mentioned a couple of posts ago about BLU (in their opinion) is a good AOE'er. I am wondering which spells were set and if atmas would play a role. I woould think the interrupt rate would be horrible it you have a lot of mobs hitting you (assuming you would use like sheep song or some other sleep spell)

Charged Whisker/Thermal Pulse, Frypan/Whirl of Rage, Sheep Song/Soporific.

Atma: Lion/MAB in all other slots (all 3 if you don't have Lion). Put up Animating Wail for recasts and Cocoon as well as Battery Charge. Best done with another puller. If another puller, sleep when they hit camp, Ascetic's + Burst Affinity Charged Whisker. Should do a stupid amount of their HP, maybe even oneshot if your gear is amazing. Follow with Whirl + attempted Sleep (or partner sleep). Frypan if that fails. Actinic Burst/Filamented Hold are nice for getting sleeps up. Finish with Thermal.

I usually sub rdm when AOEing. I use Lion/MM/ultimate. For buffs I use: Pro, stoneskin, phalanx, aquaveil, occultation, warm up, reactor cool. After pulling sleep w/ dream flower and sound blast, ennervation, memento mori, burst affinity > Charged wisker > actinic burst > dream flower > thermal pulse.

Sound blast and ennervation might be overkill but it's fun going for the high numbers and helps wait out the dream flower recast in case you need a 2nd sleepga. There are some small differences if you are solo or with someone else. Usually you can skip the 2nd dream flower and go straight for thermal pulse after Aburst.

3. Clicking the buff resets your hp to base before buff but Sorcerer's Ring requires your latent hp without buffs, which in abyssea after cruor HP buff is deep in Red HP after merit abyssites. If you want to use Sorc ring proc it the old way and don't get HP buff.

So if I wanted to use ring and didn't mind living in deep red, I could just equip latent gear > cancel my cruor buffs, and I'd still be triggering it? I guess I'd have the same total HP value as if I didn't get the buffs anyway. Although with all the MAB from Atma the +10 might not be worth the difference to even bother?

Do the HP below X% triggers from atma use your base max HP or max HP after equip/food/buffs?

Does anyone else get crazy weird Hi numbers? Fighting Briarius the other day I would do anywhere from 300-5k. The lows are starting to piss me off, and seem to not make sense. The low was seen with Zerk up, and Red Curry Buns. I would have just shrugged it off, but I keep seeing a fair amount of randomly low Hi's.

My WS gear is as follows:

Kannagi/Kamome/ /Q. Tathlum
Bersail/Soil/Brutal/Centaurus
Loki/Iga Tekko+2/Epona's/Breeze
Atheling/Soil/Ambushers/Lithe

I know its not the best, but I didn't think that I should ever see 300-400 on an Empy WS.

Yes, you can still trigger it in that way. I don't think skipping hp/mp buff is a good choice because you lose all that extra mp and your hp is still the same just a different color. I suppose it would make a difference if you were near undead but chances are your hp would still be yellow anyways.

I personally stopped carrying latent gear in abyssea. Didn't seem worth the risk anymore, but I still keep the ring on me if I happen to get hit enough to use it.

hp and mp are seperate crour buffs...
that said your fine doing it that way or skipping the buff all together. i prefer to skip it because i drain often and don't want to reset hp (that and mages still cure blm).

Can Empousa be duo/trio'ed?

Trio it with MNK WHM BLM. MNK WHM can duo. Have MDT when it´s flying and PDT on ground. Only thing that rly hurts is if you let yourself get Terrored with fresh Counterstance up and it kinda scratches your back for 30seconds for 300 each hit.

Well I guess I shouldn´t make it sound to easy. I think Empousa is one of the mobs where a few cure potency % and Damage Taken % more or less are the difference between gaining some MP or slowly losing MP on WHM.

Can also use Smiting Blow to get more efficient numbers if you fire WSes at 100TP. Will net you 0.75 FTP gain on Aeolian from 100 > 200 TP

If you're looking to solo, you can de-agro the pets if you run around long enough and be just left with JoFort (although he'll still be in reflect mode)

Yeah, but if I do that on NIN it's annoying and if I do it on BLU or (ugh) RDM he's stuck in reflect mode Was kinda hoping I could just kill them on NIN and then work him down without having to kite.

Maybe I'll just kill them with Disseverment on BLU >_>
