Did he maybe turn or slightly turn for any reason? Mobs can be real picky with positioning sometimes.

Could've I suppose, he flailed immediately after though so I dont think so, I was only DD on mob.

So just did some zeni pics to test numbers:
Gore bats in abyssea checked as T : 21 points
Anabosam 3%: 22 points
Ephemeral murex's between 1-4%

So... wth? Is the flower in Sea really a higher level NM? and I guess still best mob to spam for fame?

pre-wildfire, it depends on whether you're meleeing or not. I never really found 1 single set of atmas for corsair. Some sort of combination of Stout Arm, Drifter, Sea Daughter, Beyond, Ultimate, Cosmos, Baying Moon, Razed Ruin, Gnarled Horn, and Apoc, depending on how much I was shooting/QD+LS/melee.

post-wildfire: lone wolf, smoldering sky, ultimate.

Merits: QD recast/acc, 5 Snake Eye, at least 1 in fold, some combination of fold and winning streak.

Level doesn't really factor into zeni point rewards. Anything EP+ of the same monster type at the same HP% is going to give the same number of points. I don't know why Anabosam yielded such a low point value, but my impression is that the sea flower just gives points typical of a Notorious Monster he isn't asking for.

Just a little question to make sure I'm not going crazy:

On a scale of 1 to 10, how hard am I allowed to laugh at a MNK who uses VV, RR and Atma of the Harvester to and I quote "get nice high dmg on his Victory Smites" with Rev Fists +2 while he also has Apoc atma and GH? I'd say 12 on the scale of 10, but maybe I'm missing some bullshit here that makes it ok to gimp your dot and play like a SAM?

Any time I've mathed it, VV has come ahead of GH on Vereth-MNK by a slim to decent margin so I'd imagine it'd be similar for Rev Fists +2. Harvester probably makes his Smites a bit more consistent than Apoc, but it's definitely not worth the loss in melee DoT and average WS damage. I'd give it a 10/10 for giving up Apoc atma, that shit is cash.

How often do people use VV on Smite MNK? Curious cause I find myself sticking with GH for the defensive boosts since I'm usually fighting an NM or something.

Pretty much never. The pre-battle regain doesn't do much anyways cause shit usually dies fast when I'm on it, so I don't ws until all procs are handled. Other than that, it's just SLIGHTLY ahead of GH. You probably gain enough dmg from the counters to make up for the difference anyway.

I should have SS'd these convo's, but oh well. I can understand VV somewhat, but Harvester? Instead of Apoc? Never. But he wants me to tank "because he tanks all day". I simply want the better monk to tank, which last time I checked has always been the monk with Smite in Abyssea. Relic won't be the better tank option until GH isn't an option, but he still wants to gimp it up XD
