Has there been any solid testing on (exactly) how Abyssea lights work? I've been developing a pretty solid theory on exact numbers, but was curious as to what other people may have already figured out. Also, in regards to Destiny abyssites, has anybody else noticed that the seem to be broken (proc rate 100%) in Abyssea-Ule? It's ruining my attempts to farm Apademak...
There hasn't been solid testing, though in my experience the destiny abyssites function the same in all 9 zones.
Side question: Has Apademak been fixed yet or are you just that hardcore?
Was Guimauve changed from lotto to timed spawn? Failotherwiki claims it is but i'm not trusting it.
Ive been told its lotto spawn but ive seen it just be up when I was doing a few of the slimes for KIs.
is it required to have the other high gp items, like sign board and the +1s, to get the enhancement from stalls?
looking at farming Briareus for katana items. i've heard nin can solo it but haven't heard any details of the fight/atma/subjob. also wondering if blue/grellow help with the drop rate or don't bother.
Advanced Search for "Briareus" with "show posts" should yield something. I remember someone here wrtiing it all up.
No proc helps with droprate on helms, if you're looking to solo you can do it on nin/war with full cruor meds(so as to not have to zone out.. need /war to red proc the triggers ofc). I don't know if you'd be able to solo the rng gigas /war though, if you can swing a whm it's pretty simple. Anyway, longer version:
Ice Gigas: Nothing too bad to worry about, ice spikes are annoying. /WAR can win with some cruor meds.
WAR Gigas: Harmless. Use a couple pieces of eva gear, don't need a full set. /WAR is no problem, don't even need meds if careful.
RNG Gigas: Dick. The ranged move has a normal accuracy check so you're going to want a fair bit of eva, shock spikes hurt, and the catapult move is full dispel if it lands. Not an issue to solo /DNC, maybe possible /WAR, idk.
Briareus: Harmless. You'll take damage from mercurial strike, so you need cruor meds if going /THF or /WAR. If mercurial strike does 1111 damage, you're going to be hit by meikyo immediately after: run. You can range all of the slams if you aren't tping in dusk. Gets about 6 tp moves per fight, totalling ~3600 damage if you don't get hit by melee.. set of cruor meds + taru hp is over 4500 so it's not a huge issue, esp if you're a higher hp race.
The droprate on the lesser gigas's key items is pretty meh, if at all possible you should sub WAR for access to the most red !! weaponskills, and of course /THF is helpful for Briareus. /DNC has the upside of never dying to any of them or even coming close, but loses out on TH and red procs. It's a choice you need to make for yourself, but if you can get a WHM to help and go NIN/WAR it becomes trivial and you can complete the entire stage in 25-30 hours of actual farming duo.
Just finished Kannagi last night myself, solo'd 90% of the Briareus part doing NM's /War and Briareus /Dnc. Followed this guide by Mojo, worked very well.

NIN/WAR can do all the gigas with mounted champion atma and some cruor meds. I would personally buy pop sets ahead of time and just death warp/instant warp after each set is complete to grab /dnc or /thf. Deaggro NMs if red proc is a WS you cannot access. Just be careful on the rng gigas, make sure it is floored accuracy and don't kill yourself with spikes.
In Hero zones, you get extra bonuses that stack with normal abyssites:

High-grade pyxide discovery is similar to abyssites like Destiny and Kismet. Combined with 3x Destiny of Abyssite means you have a very high(capped?) chance of getting a big gold chest.
Also, as I'm sure you've noticed, the Frequent discovery @ lv5 combined /w 3x Fortune is near capped or capped pearl lights.
Am I better of redoing Anwig Salade to DEX+4 AGI+4 Increases WS Damage, Increases Crit Hit Damage... or just using Tantra Crown +2 (7 STR) for Victory Smite?
Aias Bonnet vs an ideal Anwig Salade?
guimauve is in fact timer pop now, not lottery.
Not only that, SE also included anti-griefing measure, allowing fistule to be activated by the pop leech NM, just in case someone is trying to hold or camp guimauve.
I wouldnt say it's a popped NM, it is simply the new mechanic that depops mobs after a certain amount of time. If the ph depops, it counts as the mob having being killed, so it has a chance to pop on the next cycle, and then it stays up since NMs dont depop.
Noticed this behavior on previously ph mobs like Tonberry Lieje too. Now they just pop on their own once the ph despawns. Easy enough to see this if you are tracking the PH by mob id or widescan.
